Job Description
Warehouse Person B
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the successful candidate will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a sit down counter balance forklift while maintaining a valid forklift certification
- Must be comfortable working outside in the elements
- Communicate with drivers to ensure the accuracy of the load as well as safety requirements for loading/unloading materials
- Identify where product is located in the yard and in the warehouse by utilizing the FIFO system.
- Load/unload trucks
- Pick and sort stock using a forklift ensuring minimal errors
- Assist with inventory counts as required
- Guide truck drivers where they need to go in order to safely loaded/unloaded
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have valid forklift certification class 1 license
- Must be able to read a pick list
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary, including weekends
- Must be able to pass a fit for duty Physical
- 2 years forklift experience
- Previous experience with materials handling & distribution warehouses preferred
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
