The Opportunity:
The Vulnerability Management Lead will oversee a dedicated team responsible for identifying, tracking, reporting, and mitigating vulnerabilities within the EITaaS (Enterprise IT as a Service) program. This role requires expertise in managing both NIPR (Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router Network) and SIPR (Secret Internet Protocol Router Network) systems. The lead will collaborate with a dashboarding group to present vulnerability data to the Department of the Air Force Leadership, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of vulnerability analysts and data modelers.
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes continuous learning and improvement.
- Develop and implement vulnerability management policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, DOD directives).
- Oversee the tracking of vulnerabilities across NIPR and SIPR systems.
- Generate regular reports on vulnerability status, trends, and mitigation efforts.
- Work closely with the dashboarding group to present data in a clear, actionable format to leadership.
- Collaborate with the dashboarding team to create and maintain vulnerability dashboards.
- Ensure dashboards are up-to-date, accurate, and effectively communicate key metrics and insights.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and provide updates on vulnerability management activities.
- Present findings and recommendations to the Department of the Air Force and EITaaS Leadership.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the vulnerability management framework.
- Stay abreast of emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
This is a hybrid position with the expectation of working onsite in Chantilly, VA, as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active Secret clearance is required.
- 10+ Years relevant experience (a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field may be substituted for 5 years of experience)
- Minimum of 5 years in vulnerability management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience working with NIPR and SIPR systems.
- Proven experience in dashboarding and data presentation to executive leadership.
- Relevant certifications such as Security +, or equivalent are required.
- DOD 8570 IAT Level II or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in vulnerability management tools (e.g., Nessus)
- Knowledge dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Desired:
- Experience within the Department of Defense or similar government agencies.
- Familiarity with large, enterprise vulnerability management.
