What Will You Do?

The Overview

Prolaio is seeking a VP, Supply Chain & Manufacturing and will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive supply chain management and manufacturing strategy, including the supporting processes and organizational structure. This role reports to the General Manager of Prolaio and is a member of the Prolaio Leadership Team. 

This is a highly strategic yet hands-on role, requiring the ability to set long-term direction while also executing day-to-day initiatives. The ideal candidate can see the big picture, plan ahead, and actively engage in building and scaling operations.

The role is multidisciplinary in nature and requires proven leadership and strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across functions, including Clinical, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, IT, Customer Success, and Product teams.

This position is based in Chicago, Illinois.

The Specifics

  • Define, execute, and lead the Company's overall supply chain and manufacturing strategy in accordance with business strategies and plans. Strategies include but are not limited to: internal GMP/Medical Device manufacturing, inventory optimization, material planning and management, strategic sourcing, distribution, logistics, trade compliance, S&OP, COGS, order management and risk management.
  • Establish a clear and accountable planning process, which includes a robust planning cycle and capabilities to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Improve processes within the end-to-end supply chain, leveraging phase appropriate tools and solutions, to further drive sustainable improvements and enable future-ready supply chains.
  • Oversee internal manufacturing of Prolaio Medical Device Kits
  • Dramatically increase output of manufacturing, while simultaneously improving GMP, manufacturing and supply chain knowledge within the function
  • Implement ex-US delivery capability
  • Define and execute a supplier strategy, including single- vs multi-source decisions, make-vs-buy analysis, and geographic risk diversification.
  • Own supplier qualification, onboarding, performance management, and remediation in coordination with Quality and Regulatory.
  • Continual optimization of supply chain and manufacturing to increase on time delivery and minimize costs
  • Negotiate supply agreements to ensure supply and continually improve costs
  • Develop contingency plans and alternate sourcing strategies for critical components and materials.
  • Partner with IT and Security to ensure supply chain systems and vendors meet cybersecurity and data protection requirements.
  • Optimize ERP system and serve as business owner of the ERP system
  • Serve as an active and accountable member of the Prolaio Leadership team to set and achieve company goals, work collaboratively with other functions, and optimize for the company rather than individual areas of responsibility

Who You Are?

  • 15+ years of related experience including supply chain management and manufacturing functions
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management or a related field
  • Strong and sustained GMP and Medical Device experience
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with business acumen
  • Experience implementing and owning ERP systems
  • P2P (Procure to Pay) general process knowledge required
  • Experience building S&OP process with internal stakeholders
  • Experience in all phases of product lifecycle – from pre-clinical to commercialization
  • Knowledge of trade compliance, import/export requirements
  • Strong supplier management, project management, organizational and planning skills
  • Proven negotiation, influencing, and strong interpersonal skills to deliver value
  • Proven ability to work in a lean organization and creatively solve problems
  • Ability to build, manage, and develop supply chain and manufacturing functions
  • Empathetic leader, who can recruit, retain, and develop top talent
  • Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced environment with a strong work ethic and positive attitude

Starting Salary is at $251,736.00 (Exact Compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location)
