The Role

Aldevron is looking for a VP, Strategy professional to contribute to the strategic direction of Aldevron. The VP, Strategy will specifically drive strategic planning and market research for Aldevron. The person in this role will be a thought leader with the vision, leadership, and experience to orchestrate a compelling strategic business plan and lead research, analysis and synthesis of strategic priorities within the business.

The VP Strategy will partner with other senior leaders to develop, articulate, and execute business strategies that drive meaningful improvements in human health and, in turn, drive market share gains, maximize profitability and drive shareholder value.

Key Objectives:

  • As a Strategy Leader you will own the end-to-end strategic process - from vision through execution - to achieve sustainable growth.
  • Lead the development of market/competitive intelligence to derive insights necessary to understand customer needs and competitive trends and potential threats.
  • Prioritize global market segments, both existing and adjacent, perform gap analysis to current portfolio, and define strategic initiatives for accelerated growth and to open up strategic opportunities for Aldevron
  • Lead the formation of a coherent strategic plan that clearly conveys a differentiated and defensible position for Aldevron
  • Drive the inclusion and collaboration with Marketing, Product Management, and Opco leadership in the creation of the strategic plan to ensure ownership and coherence in the enablement and execution of strategic initiatives throughout the year.
  • Create an inclusive environment and utilize diverse talent in market research & insight development to produce higher quality initiatives.
  • Develop thought leadership on industry trends both emerging and established to ensure business is aligned to capitalize and establish a market leadership position.
  • Build a small team with subject matter expertise to perform market analysis, identifying targets, supporting due diligence efforts etc.

Preferred Background:

  • 15+ years of experience with a minimum of 5+ years evaluating the market attractiveness and strategic fit of new businesses/markets/domains and in a top-tier consulting firm or equivalent experience focused on market analysis and/or growth/strategy commercial projects.
  • Undergraduate degree in pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology, chemistry, or related disciplines, and top tier MBA or other graduate degree required.
  • Substantial experience and/or formal education that has allowed the development of a deep understanding of industry trends, and the competitive landscape resulting in key customer insights and empathy.
  • 3+ years' experience executing in a non-consulting role.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well cross-functionally and to interact with executives at the most senior levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex business issues while simplifying strategy into specific actions with clear accountability.
  • Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others.
