Job Summary
The Vice President of Strategic Data and Financial Analysis will elevate the partnership with cross-functional teams and business leaders to guide the prioritization and planning of high-impact strategic programs by leveraging data-driven insights and financial acumen. This position is responsible for aligning strategic business initiatives with data analytics and financial forecasting, ensuring a quantitative approach to the company's project roadmap. You will develop financial models to present to senior leadership and optimize business performance across key initiatives.
Responsibilities

  • Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and prioritization of strategic programs, ensuring each new program has processes in place to regularly assess financial health and performance against budget.
  • Support the company-wide strategic planning process, including the analysis of macro and micro economic factors, strategic benchmarking, current/future portfolio review, and competitive position analyses.
  • Coach business units to develop an operating culture that focuses on delivering results against strategic long-range planning objectives. Consistently seek opportunities to introduce provocative ideas that challenge the status quo and encourage a culture of curiosity and external awareness.
  • Lead the strategic planning process to ensure alignment around strategic priorities. Engage the business units to help them define and refine business strategy with a particular focus on designing and implementing new ideas and processes to grow the business and measure results.
  • Establish and oversee a robust benefit tracking and realization framework to assess project success in delivering the intended benefits, both financial and non-financial.
  • Conduct on-going market assessments to identify, evaluate and prioritize specific strategic alternatives and initiatives to drive growth and shareholder returns.
  • Drive an externally-focused orientation, particularly with regard to awareness and insightful analysis of global economic, market & transaction trends, and identification & exploration of adjacencies to our core businesses to identify new opportunities and specific M&A prospects.
  • Develop/refine and implement strategy and analytic processes and tools. Build analytical models and perform market and financial analyses to comprehensively value opportunities and ensure that clear explanations and well-founded recommendations are presented to the Enterprise Leadership team.
  • Establish collaborative, effective and trusting relationships with key internal business leaders and functions to ensure a free flow of information and ideas.
  • Develop key talent and capability in business strategy across the enterprise and serve as a talent steward for the business in this space.
  • Lead the planning, evaluation and execution of key business alliances as appropriate.
  • Track and report progress of delivery against plans, and highlight issues, risks and areas requiring resolution and/or replanning.
  • Evolve processes, systems and tools supporting strategic and business planning.


Qualifications

  • Eight to fifteen years of post-graduate experience with increasing responsibility in strategic planning and analysis, competitive intelligence, marketing/market research, corporate business development, international business management or management consulting.
  • Master's in Business Administration from a top ranked institution is highly preferred.
  • Strong overall business acumen, good instincts, solid financial grounding and a clear understanding of how our business operates. Excellent judgment and analytical ability to make recommendations/decisions and to resolve complex problems.
  • Proven success in developing and driving growth initiatives and a track record of identifying future business opportunities and developing strategies to address them.
  • Strategic thinking, planning and project management skills. A strategic thinker who balances thought leadership and best practices with strong results-orientation.
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial documents, business plans and making judgment calls based on research and due diligence.
  • Flexibility to manage multiple assignments and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, time sensitive and collaborative environment.

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $178,500.00 - $255,000.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
