Edelman is looking for a Vice President of Social Strategy to join our team, supporting a leading national healthcare and wellness brand. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic, creative, and collaborative social leader who understands how brands build relevance, strengthen reputations, and connect with audiences in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
In this role, you'll help shape social strategy at the intersection of consumer storytelling, corporate communications, and cultural insights, developing work that makes an impact. You'll partner with integrated teams across creative, strategy, earned media, paid, and analytics to deliver thoughtful, innovative social programs that drive meaningful business results.
We're looking for someone who brings a strong point of view on social, understands the role it plays in both brand building and reputation, and is excited by the opportunity to work at the intersection of health, wellness, and culture. Previous healthcare or pharmaceutical experience is not required.
Who You Are
You're a strategic thinker and creative problem-solver who sees social as more than a channel. You understand how it can influence conversations, shape perceptions, and build lasting connections between brands and their audiences.
You bring curiosity, confidence, and a collaborative mindset to your work. You're equally comfortable advising senior clients, inspiring teams, and getting into the details of a strategy or presentation. You know how to balance big-picture thinking with practical execution and enjoy helping others do their best work.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development and execution of social strategies that connect consumer brand storytelling, corporate reputation, and business objectives across a major healthcare and wellness portfolio.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior clients, providing thoughtful recommendations on social trends, platform opportunities, audience engagement, and emerging digital behaviors.
- Translate audience insights, cultural trends, and business challenges into compelling social strategies, creative briefs, and integrated campaign recommendations.
- Collaborate with creative, paid media, earned media, analytics, and planning teams to develop cohesive, insight-driven programs across channels.
- Guide social content strategy, platform planning, campaign development, and community engagement approaches that strengthen brand relevance and reputation.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, strategic thinking, and professional growth.
- Evaluate campaign performance and social insights to optimize strategies, demonstrate impact, and identify opportunities for innovation and account growth.
- Stay ahead of the evolving social landscape, bringing fresh thinking on platforms, creators, emerging technologies, and cultural conversations to clients and internal teams.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in social strategy, digital marketing, communications, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing social strategies that deliver measurable business or communications results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing social strategies across both consumer brand marketing and corporate communications or reputation management.
- Strong understanding of the social media landscape, including platform strategy, content development, audience insights, and emerging trends.
- Experience collaborating with paid media, analytics, creative, editorial, and integrated communications teams.
- Ability to translate complex business challenges and audience insights into clear, compelling strategic recommendations.
- Experience advising senior clients, presenting strategic thinking, and building trusted relationships.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing teams while balancing multiple priorities and workstreams.
- Interest in health, wellness, consumer behavior, and the evolving conversations shaping how people engage with brands. Previous healthcare or pharmaceutical experience is not required.
- Agency experience is a plus, along with familiarity with social analytics and measurement across earned, owned, and paid channels.

-
Healthcare Strength — Benefits are described as comprehensive, with health plans commonly framed as a strong part of the overall package. Mental and physical well-being programs are also emphasized as meaningful support.
-
Flexible Benefits — Work flexibility is positioned as a standout, including hybrid routines and a “Work From Anywhere” option for part of the year. Flexible public holidays are also highlighted as adding practical choice to how time is used.
-
Retirement Support — Retirement offerings such as a 401(k) match (and pension-style contributions in some markets) are consistently presented as a solid component of total rewards. This tends to improve overall package value even when base pay feels less competitive.
