Purpose:

Athene USA, one of the fastest growing providers of fixed annuities, is hiring a
Vice President, Relationship Manager to our team who will focus on
maintaining and building Athene's presence in the Independent Marketing
Organization (IMO) Channel. The RM will partner with the Division Sales VP
in developing and leading the wholesaling efforts with our clients.

Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with VP, Division Sales Manager to develop appropriate business plan to maximize sales and meet business growth objectives.
  • Identify and develop new advisors while strengthening relationships with existing advisors.
  • External wholesaling position to work with the IMOs to increase the sale of fixed indexed annuities, and registered indexed linked annuities.
  • Build and maintain producer relationships to keep them informed of market and product changes and enhancements.
  • Increase sales through field activity and in-person meetings.
  • Provide sales ideas and client solutions. Work in conjunction with Internal Wholesalers to identify producer needs, develop an extensive and productive travel schedule, and a build a results oriented strategy for implementation.
  • Conduct product and sales training through individual and group training sessions, seminars, workshops and branch meetings.
  • Strategically plan and manage deployment of resources for the territory through marketing and sales initiatives, and budgeting & expense responsibilities.
  • Work in conjunction with Internal Wholesaling Team to identify and foster leads generated from referrals.
  • Ability to foster and maintain constructive relationships with cross functional teams
  • Maintain a high level of professional conduct ensuring that all FINRA, SEC, Department of Insurance and Athene compliance and firm policies as well as the rules of engagement of our partner firms are adhered to.
  • Manage relationships with IMO partners.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Indexed Annuity/Registered Indexed Link Annuity Marketplace
  • Work and influence within the organization.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10 years prior wholesaling experience in the IMO or IBD channel with above noted products
  • Proven sales acumen and presentation skills
  • Proven ability in growing a region as measured by sales results
  • KAM experience, Business Development experience preferred
  • Must have or obtain FINRA Licensing (Series 6) within 6 months of employment
  • Life & Health license
  • FINRA Series 7, and Series 63 licenses preferred
  • RICP designation within 12 months of employment
  • 75% travel required
  • Excellent knowledge of the advisor community and industry
  • Ability to adapt to constant changing environment
  • Ability to build productive relationships; provide training, sales ideas, and mentoring
  • Strong territory management experience
  • History of producer contacts in the territory
  • Demonstrated success within sales with the ability to establish sales objectives and meet goals
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
