Chief Development Officer- Enlight Local

Enlight Local is an Israeli energy-development company and a subsidiary of Enlight Renewable Energy. It focuses on developing energy independence projects close to electricity consumption and demand centres in Israel. Enlight Local works with municipalities, businesses, industrial facilities, and rural communities to develop integrated energy solutions. 

We are looking for a senior, commercially minded Chief Development Officer to lead the Israeli development organization and drive the company's next phase of growth. The role oversees three interconnected areas: Business Development & Sales, Renewable Energy Project Development — spanning planning, permitting, land and grid connection for complex, long-cycle projects — and Customer Excellence. 

The VP will lead a large, multi-layered organization, including senior directors and managers, and will report directly to the CEO of Enlight Local. 

Lead Commercial & Business Development 

• Drive the company's commercial growth, from initial opportunities through signed land and project agreements. 
• Develop new segments, business models and strategic partnerships across Israel's energy market, including solar, storage, microgrids and behind-the-meter solutions. 
• Build and manage relationships with strategic partners and major customers. 

Lead Renewable Energy Project Development 

• Oversee the development and maturation of the project pipeline through to construction readiness. 
• Lead the organization's management of statutory planning, permitting, land/RMI processes and electricity/grid connection. 
• Ensure effective management of external consultants and professional advisors and drive projects through complex, long-term development processes. 
• Maximize the value and development potential of the company's existing pipeline and projects. 

Lead Customer Excellence 

• Oversee customer and partner relationships throughout the project lifecycle, including customer success and service operations. 
• Identify opportunities for additional projects, partnerships and upselling. 

Build & Lead the Organization 

• Lead and develop a large, multi-layered organization of senior professionals and managers. 
• Establish scalable management processes, KPIs and operating routines and foster a culture of accountability, excellence and execution. 
• Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team on the company's strategy and long-term growth. 

• Significant leadership experience managing large, multi-layered teams, including managers and senior professionals. 
• Proven ability to lead complex, long-cycle processes involving multiple stakeholders, dependencies and regulatory interfaces. 
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to work with economic models, business plans and financing parameters. 
• Highly analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously. 
• Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, real estate or another highly regulated, process-intensive industry – a strong advantage. 
• Familiarity with planning, permitting, land/RMI or electricity/grid processes – an advantage, but not a prerequisite. 
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills. 
• Entrepreneurial, ambitious and execution-oriented mindset, with a strong drive for excellence. 
• Fluent English. 

We are looking for a strong business leader first. Deep technical expertise in electricity regulation, planning and permitting is an advantage
