As Vice President, Product Marketing, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and execution of all Product Marketing initiatives. This includes positioning, messaging, go-to-market (GTM) strategy, competitive analysis, and enablement across the organization. You will work closely with Sales, Product Management, and Customer Success teams to craft compelling narratives that resonate with technical and business personas alike.
What you'll own:
- Build Product Marketing: Create a team committed to supporting our growth in the market where we already serve thousands of customers globally across major verticals such as Life Sciences, Healthcare, Finance, Banking, Insurance, and Public Sector.
- 1,900+ enterprise customers, many in partnership with Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, and other cloud platforms, including 57 of the Fortune 100.
- 10,000+ cloud customers.
- Develop Product Positioning & Messaging: Define and refine product positioning that differentiates our solutions in the data analytics and data science space. Craft messaging that resonates with our target audiences across our top industry segments.
- Lead GTM Strategy & Execution: Align with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to expand awareness through clear positioning and support pipeline growth. Gain insights and drive improvements on how positioning, messaging, segmentation, and enablement impact marketing and sales performance, measured by win rates, deal cycle time, and average deal size.
- Drive Awareness, Adoption, and Excitement of Posit’s “Code First” & “Open Source” Approach: Help foster and empower a community of data scientists, analysts, and developers to adopt our tools and solve some of their most challenging problems with cutting edge advanced analytics and machine learning solutions.
- Support Sales Enablement: Create and deliver content and training to empower the Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Partner teams with effective tools, resources, and value-based narratives that enable them to engage prospects and customers more effectively.
- Create Compelling Content: Lead the development of high-quality marketing assets, including white papers, case studies, demo videos, blogs, and more to engage target personas and support the buyer's journey.
- Lead Competitive Intelligence: Conduct market research and analysis to understand evolving trends, the competitive landscape, and customer needs. Help channel these insights to guide product and marketing strategies, ensuring we address customer challenges effectively.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Act as a bridge between Product, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success teams, ensuring alignment and clear communication across all functions.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Set team strategy, budget, hiring plans, goals, and KPIs to build and measure team performance.
- Lead with Clarity: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing Product Marketing team, fostering collaboration, innovation and a culture of continuous improvement.
What you bring:
- Demonstrable track record in Product Marketing, with experience in driving growth for B2B software.
- Background in marketing products for data analytics, data science, data management, or business intelligence (highly desirable).
- Experience with open-source software and/or developer tools (highly desirable).
- Successful history of leading product launches and executing go-to-market (GTM) strategies that drive revenue.
- Expertise in GTM strategies, particularly with technology and implementation partners (highly desirable).
- Skilled in solution selling, storytelling, and articulating how products address real-world challenges for both technical and business audiences.
- Strong operational and project management abilities, adept at leading cross-functional teams and handling complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders across various functions.
- Proven ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performance teams.
