Job Title:VP, Private Lender Finance Portfolio ManagerJob Description:

Summary

Responsible for the overall function of Commercial Loan Documentation staff, including workflow between commercial loan documentation and the Units. Regular interaction with units, training within, and outside loan documentation, including travel to other Units and Regions. Responsible for analyzing commercial documentation packages for all loan types of commercial loans. Reviews the integrity of documents used in closing the loan, and ensures the documentation process results in legally binding documents which are in compliance with Federal regulation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact with clients in gathering information for portfolio monitoring, executing renewals, modifications and increases, conducting relationship reviews, managing any problem or delinquent accounts, encouraging deposit relationships, and working with clients as they evolve and grow to adjust our structure.

  • Coordinate with the Private Lender Finance team to onboard new clients and help them adapt to our processes.

  • Act as a primary point of contact with internal partners to ensure covenant testing and underwriting are completed as required, and cross-sale opportunities are promoted.

  • Review and process borrowing bases to ensure efficient availability on our lines of credit.

  • Strive for continuous improvement by establishing and maintaining our processes.

  • Communicate immediately with PLF teammates to ensure tasks are appropriately assigned, completely efficiently, and clients are updated as needed.

  • Manage and grow value-based relationships through exceptional communication and follow through timely to ensure client satisfaction, resulting in high client retention and maximizing portfolio quality.  

  • Develop and maintain a database process for housing all client portfolio data over time and perform regular portfolio analytics.

  • Run additional ad hoc analytics as needed and assist with management reporting and presentations.

  • Manage workflow of clients within Salesforce and other internal systems.

  • Support the bank’s high standards for client care while performing as a key member of a service team.

  • Maintain exception items at or below Company Thresholds.

  • Assist when needed with intake of information for prospective clients and underwriting/analysis of loan request(s).

  • Travel as established by PLF Management as needed. 

  • Performs other duties as required.


Qualifications

  • Superb people skills to work within a team environment and successfully develop and retain client relationships.

  • Possesses expert knowledge or can learn and become an expert in the field of private lending and private lender financing.

  • Must have demonstrated skills in credit underwriting and portfolio management for professional service corporations.

  • Superior analytical ability for creating trend analysis across large data sets and decision-making skills based on a thoughtful assessment of risk.

  • Must be attentive to detail and accurate when analyzing financial statements (including but not limited to personal financial statements, mortgage origination fees and interest income, various fund and capital raising structures).

  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation and tactful interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to produce needed outcomes and retain client relationships.

  • Self-motivated to work independently, continuously improve, achieve goals and take personal ownership.

  • Effective time management and organizational skills and follow through to prioritize multiple tasks within a day.

  • Strong working knowledge of regulations, compliance standards, market trends and products relating to the banking industry.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university

  • Five to ten years related banking or financial services experience and training 

  • Commercial, credit and/or private lender finance underwriting and portfolio management experience preferred.

Computer and Software Skills

  • Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel

  • Google Suite, including Google Mail, Docs and Sheets

  • Bankway or similar depository account system

  • Salesforce or similar Client Relationship Management (CRM) database

  • Database management, mortgage analytics preferred

  • Basic AI fluency, Gemini preferred
