Position Overview: 

Blue Yonder is seeking a VP, IT Strategy & Planning / Chief of Staff to join our global IT team. This senior leadership role will be responsible for developing and implementing an overarching IT Strategy aligned to business goals, IT Governance Model, Quality Assurance capability, and maturing the Program Management Organization (PMO). The leader will support the delivery of IT solutions globally, managing intake, prioritization, capacity vs. demand, planning, and execution of the full portfolio of IT and strategic initiatives.

What you will do:

Strategic Planning and Governance:

  • Develop and implement an IT governance framework spanning Project Management, Financial Planning, ITIL, and Quality Assurance.
  • Collaborate with executives to develop and prioritize strategic business initiatives.
  • Establish standardized processes and deliverables for project management, resource/demand planning, ITIL processes, IT Asset Management, IT Compliance, Financial Planning, execution, training, and ongoing support.
  • Lead the identification and implementation of IT governance and project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines, and standards to establish a stable framework supporting IT Objectives and Key Results (OKR).
  • Ensure all IT staff are trained and actively governed on the governance framework and associated processes to increase productivity and velocity of IT delivery.

Project and Change Management:

  • Oversee projects from start to finish, including setting milestones and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Establish, maintain, and deliver IT and IT-driven business Organizational Change Management plans.
  • Manage onboarding processes for project resources, purchase orders (POs), and statements of work (SOWs) for project execution.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project and program team members.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Act as a liaison between the executive team and other stakeholders, identifying and closing communication gaps.
  • Consolidate and drive metrics and dashboard reporting across all IT functions, including measurements for ensuring business value of IT across all business units.
  • Prepare and present IT operations analysis to executives.

Process Improvement and Risk Management:

  • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish enhanced business case methodology focused on demonstrating business value and business risk while enforcing Business Value Realization.
  • Evaluate risk factors when making critical decisions.

Financial Oversight:

  • Responsible for oversight of the IT financial portfolio, planned expenditures, execution of purchases, and renewals.
  • Develop strong partnerships with compliance, finance, privacy, and security organizations to ensure a unified view of IT Controls and Compliance.
  • Partner with other enterprise project management offices to define, manage, and direct the needed end-to-end IT work effort, leveraging best practices and techniques in identifying, quantifying, and tracking the realization of expected benefits defined in business cases.

Special Projects and Organizational Leadership:

  • Lead and execute special projects to support the organization.
  • Establish a strategy for a long-term shared services model for common governance-related services in partnership with the CIO, CSO, Procurement, Cloud, and Customer Success organizations.
  • Provide governance models and oversight for technology solution lifecycle through ongoing associate engagement and feedback, applicable to the end-to-end project lifecycle.
  • Responsible for methods and practices around provisioning IT services, IT solutions, M&A activities for Blue Yonder globally, and continually improving the overall PPM maturity across the organization.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience; Advanced degree highly desirable.
  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience supporting multiple physical locations and heterogeneous environments (Windows, Linux, iOS).
  • 10+ years of technology leadership experience for enterprise infrastructure, including active directory, networking, and information security.
  • Proven track record of driving IT strategic initiatives and delivering measurable business objectives.
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal customers and management.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Budget management experience a must.

The salary range for this position is: $212,361.09 - $260,638.90 USD

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
