Department Overview

Our Accounting department keeps the official books and records of the company, publishes financial statements and compliance documents, and provides analyses and tools to company leaders to make the best business decisions. The department is made up of several groups who work together to complete all accounting functions including Loan Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Financial Reporting, Corporate Taxes, Special Initiatives, and Financial Reporting & Analysis.

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Take the lead on creating the procurement function

  • Create and document procurement policies and procedures

  • Establish more robust policies and procedures around vendor set up and monitoring

  • Streamline and enhance vendor selection and creation of purchase orders

  • Create procedures for vendor vetting to support initiatives like DEI

  • Work with key stakeholders across the company such as Legal and IT on procurement initiatives and process improvements

  • Engage with key members of senior management on areas such as company spend, areas for cost savings, and recommendations for cost reductions

  • Assist with the budgeting process for various spend categories

  • Assist the company improve expense policy compliance

  • Refine procedures around contract management and contract approval processes

  • Develop processes and reporting mechanisms to help senior management understand the effectiveness of the company’s procurement efforts

  • Work with the accounting team to improve controls and reporting

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience 

  • 10+ years of progressive experience withing an accounts payable and/or procurement function or equivalent

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, especially with other functions across an organization

  • Experience with Coupa preferred

  • Experience with other procurement software a plus

  • Certificate or degree in Operations Management / Business Management is preferred

  • Experience dealing with accounting issues/personnel preferred

  • Proven management skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Courtesy, respect, and thoughtfulness in teaming with colleagues and other stakeholders

This position has an estimated base salary of $150,000 - $175,000 plus discretionary bonus. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
