About this role:
The Head of Operations will lead the Operations team to cover end-to-end product operation, including account management, product filing, product parameters maintenance, transfer agency, AML, investment settlement, valuation, regulatory reporting and information disclosure, etc.
This role takes ownership for the joint venture’s end-to-end operational robustness, scalable expansion and full compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Translate corporate-level strategic objectives into concrete, measurable operational workplans, driving effectiveness and efficiency.
- Build, mentor and scale a high-performing operation team, define the most effective organizational structure, allocate resources, and develop a sustainable talent pipeline to support projected business growth.
- Regularly review and refresh all departmental policies and SOPs to ensure they fully reflect latest regulatory updates; embed and enforce robust internal control frameworks to reduce operational risk exposure.
- Provide top-level oversight for daily product operations to guarantee fully accurate, on-time product settlements, trade clearing and NAV oversight.
- Own the full operational implementation for all new product launches, including end- to-end regulatory filing coordination and ongoing post-launch Lifecyle management.
- Take final accountability for the completeness, accuracy and timely submission of all regulatory reports submitted to authorities such as NFRA and PBOC.
- Oversee all end-to-end client activities including onboarding, subscription and redemption processing, and full AML/KYC due diligence to deliver consistent high-quality service for investors.
- Proactively design future-proof operational workflows and define system functional requirements to support the rollout of new business lines.
- Supervise outsourced functions, including performance of the service provider, due diligence visits, leading all aspects of risk and control environments, investigation of NAV related queries.
- Work closely with the technology team to drive targeted process automation and system capability upgrades that reduce reliance on manual work.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of operations management experience in the asset management industry with 6+ years in WMS industry. Familiar with relevant regulatory policies and requirements.
- Be able to navigate through matrix organization to lead the change for continual improvement.
- Attention to detail and ability to resolve conflicting priorities.
- Able to identify risk and escalate it for support per needed.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with can do attitude and agile mindset.
- A proven ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with key partners/stakeholders.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Think big and have a win-win mindset.
- Knowledge of anti-money laundering policies and requirements.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and prior hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g. VBA, RPA, Python, etc.) would be an advantage.
- Experience with financial technology platforms is a plus.
- English communication is a plus.
