The Role

The Finance Chief Risk Office (CRO) team provides risk management oversight of the Finance function, including effective risk challenge and mitigation of risk for capital, liquidity and interest rate risks, Treasury investments, and private equity investments, and ensures compliance with all risk-related regulatory requirements. The Finance CRO Chief Administrative Office (CAO) team is responsible for execution, governance, and control oversight of Finance CRO, including regulatory and audit communications; policies, supporting standards and procedures, and training; reporting to Board and committees; internal controls; and employee engagement across the Finance CRO organization. The Governance & Committees team is accountable for the overall direction, development and execution of governance across Finance CRO, and the coordination of committee materials and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the governance framework for 35+ committees, including those at the Board level, to ensure consistent executive-level presentations (including charts, graphs and crisp messaging), effective senior management preparation, on-time delivery of materials, execution of related controls, and tracking of follow-up items
  • Provide concise and timely updates directly to the Finance CRO and the Senior Leadership Team, leading weekly check-in meetings and consolidating prep books for Board-level committees
  • Support routine communication and performance deliverables for the Finance CRO organization centrally, including maintaining and enforcing a consistent Style Guide
  • Drive efforts to roll out automation of committee workflows via the Governance Committee System across Finance CRO
  • Represent Finance CRO in committee prep meetings and other interactions across Risk and broader organizations
  • Track participation by Finance CRO as an independent reviewer and challenger across various committees and summarize metrics via value-add reports
  • Maintain a well-organized SharePoint for tracking committee materials and approvals
  • Project manage various deliverables across the CAO team

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, comfort with making presentations to large groups of professionals
  • Project management knowledge and experience working with diverse group of stakeholders to achieve milestones and deadlines
  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and ability to take ownership of deliverables, provide credible challenge, and make decisions when needed
  • Quick learner, with ability to understand complex requirements and translate into clear and simple guidance for the business
  • Highly adaptive with a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while still maintaining attention to detail and accuracy

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
