Role Summary:
The Vice President, Human Resources is a strategic HR partner overseeing a diverse client group of 300+ employees across multiple functions at Synchrony India. This position plays a key role with business clients as a strategic partner, change management leader, and employee advocate. You will collaborate with stakeholders to foster high-performance teams, an inclusive culture, and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide HR business partnership for the Risk, Legal, HR and Finance teams in India.
- Partner with Senior Management and people leaders to provide strategic direction and delivery related to staffing and retention, succession management, talent development, employee relations, resource planning, compensation and benefits, and performance management.
- Develop and implement impactful engagement plans in support of Synchrony’s culture, values, and to champion diversity and flexibility.
- Collaborate with Senior Management and their teams to effectively manage change within the function and across the organization.
- Manage stakeholder and employee relationships on a proactive basis.
- Support the development of capabilities to improve leadership, succession, and people management effectiveness through coaching, identifying programs, and facilitating team sessions.
- Work with external staffing organizations to identify and recruit key talent and to foster a diverse candidate pipeline.
- Manage employee relations concerns/escalated issues within client groups. Building relationships of trust with all teams.
- Lead other initiatives or projects as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of increasing HR Generalist experience in Human Resources.
- Past or current experience supporting multiple executive level clients, exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Strong skills at building relationships with various levels in an organization.
- Past or current experience supporting a geographically diverse, matrixed client group.
- Demonstrated strength in coaching, employee relations and conflict resolution
- Proven experience as an effective business partner for senior levels
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience within financial services and/or technology organizations.
- A minimum of 12-months experience working with remote/virtual teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Past or current experience supporting multiple executive level clients
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or Business-Related Field
- Very strong influence and change management skills
- Demonstrated ability to drive HR processes and to deliver high quality HR services in a fast paced, high change environment
Work Schedule: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
