As the Data Technology leader, you'll be responsible for creating the overall Enterprise Data Strategy as well as ensure all Local Data Strategies are aligned to the enterprise. This role is accountable for all data practices, governance and risk posture for Nationwide. You'll be accountable for improving the alignment of data capabilities across the company. You'll oversee the data portfolio, consultation services and the delivery of thought leadership to identify, evaluate and recommend new technologies, data-driven capabilities and quality improvement for the enterprise. You'll also be responsible for the company's advanced analytics services, GenAI enablement, modeling, and journey maps. You'll have the opportunity to champion the development of data skills and capabilities and be responsible for multiple data platforms and tools.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for development and execution of the technology data strategies to improve the company's data governance, practices and risk posture.

Responsible for creating technology roadmaps and improving data platform(s), tools, and development across the company in alignment with the company's overall business goals.

Connects the enterprise data strategy to the Enterprise Technology Strategy as well as existing data strategies currently in flight to drive alignment in approach and responsibilities.

Accountable for data platforms, data tools, warehouse, polices and standards across the company.

Leads the enterprise analytic services, in GenAI enablement, digital analytics and journey management.

Manages competitive benchmarking sources in partnership with Enterprise Analytics and collaborates across Business Units.

Oversees the completion of data audits and current state assessments to build the case for change across the enterprise and promote data governance and quality measures in partnership with IRM and Architecture teams.

Drives the design creation and communication of key metrics and measure to track results.

Oversees data skill development, education and training for the company.

Leads all aspects of associate management, including performance, salary administration, training, and development, hiring, day-to-day management and corrective actions.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to SVP, Chief Data Officer. Responsible for a small team of approximately 3-5 leaders and 5-10 indirect reports. Works largely through matrix relationships across technology and business units.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, architecture, data science, usability, human factors or design thinking. Related technical and managerial experience preferred.
Experience: At least ten years of Information Systems with a focus on data experience with proven ability to lead, supervise, motivate and develop employees. 5-7 years of middle to senior level management experience, including strategic planning and setting direction. Experience with large, complex and multidisciplinary projects. Successfully led organizations through both operational and growth challenges.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: High technical acumen focused on data lifecycle management, exceptional problem solving and critical thinking ability, skilled in agile and scaled agile framework processes, solid business background, strategic thinking and customer experience awareness. Exceptionally strong ability to influence direction without having positional accountability. Strong prioritization and ability to focus matrixed teams on driving tangible business outcomes.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
