Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Management Analyst within Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. In this role, you will:
- Organize and lead complex companywide initiatives to ensure that data quality is maintained so that data can effectively support business processes
- Oversee analysis and reporting in support of regulatory requirements
- Identify and recommend analysis of data quality or integrity issues
- Evaluate data quality metrics and data quality audits to benchmark the state of data quality
- Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of data governance standards and procedures
- Identify new data sources and develop recommendations for assessing the quality of new data
- Lead project teams and mentor less experienced staff members
- Recommend remediation of process or control gaps that align to management strategy
- Serve as relationship manager for a line of business
- Consult with and provide recommendations to senior management regarding assessments of the current state of data and metadata quality within area of assigned responsibility
- Represent client in cross-functional groups to develop companywide data governance strategies
- Strategically collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level to senior managers to coordinate and drive collaboration on solution design and remediation execution
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Data Management, Business Analysis, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Support data governance for CIB Data, working with Application Business Owners (ABOs), Product Managers, Technology teams, Controllers, and Risk partners to implement data control strategies.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of data controls, identifying gaps or deficiencies and supporting remediation efforts.
- Provide guidance and training to ABOs, Product Managers, and technology teams on data control requirements and best practices, ensuring alignment with Data Management Policy and Procedures.
- Collaborate with Data Management team members to support companywide data governance strategies.
- Represent CIB in cross-functional groups focused on governance tools and risk mitigation.
- Proactively identify and escalate emerging data control risks, especially those impacting critical regulatory reports.
- Evaluate data quality metrics and audits to benchmark and improve data quality.
- Partner with business and functional groups to coordinate solution design and remediation execution.
Job Expectations:
- 5+ years of relationship management or project experience with business, Functional Groups, and technology partners to achieve shared objectives.
- Experience in finance, data management, business research, analytics, Controllers, or Risk, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
- Experience supporting or leading initiatives that elicit, synthesize, and document business requirements, conduct analysis, and design solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Basel, Dodd-Frank, BCBS 239, or similar.
- Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences and build consensus among stakeholders.
- Strong control mindset and risk awareness.
- Ability to prepare and present communications to senior audiences.
- Effective conflict management and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a client-centric focus.
- Experience collaborating with a wide range of business and functional areas.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction, demonstrating initiative and accountability.
