Where you will work: This position offers a hybrid work option (up to 50%/40%/etc. remote) and is open to any Compeer office location in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

The contributions you will make: This position is responsible for leading a team of sales leaders who are responsible for the development of new crop and livestock insurance business, retaining existing business and cross selling Compeer products and services through relationships developed with current and prospective clients. Creates and executes strategy to develop new business, strengthen relationships with current clients and add unique value to client relationships within their assigned territory. Leads the team in being the premier provider of crop insurance and financial services to eligible clients. Provides effective management of resources, compliance and profitability within the insurance line of business.


Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, marketing, agribusiness or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Minimum of seven years of leadership and management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • Strategic and innovative.
  • Expert knowledge of collateral evaluation methods.
  • Expert knowledge of sales and sales management techniques.
  • Working knowledge of the agriculture industry.
  • Working knowledge of the local marketplace.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Strong negotiating, problem solving, decision making and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
  • Valid driver’s license.


A typical day: 

  • Works with leaders to develop marketplace specific strategies that align with the Organization’s strategic direction, vision, and short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Participates in developing business expectations and goals and is responsible for communicating them to the team.
  • Promotes and represents the Insurance Sales culture, holding themselves and team members accountable to desired behaviors in the Culture Blueprint.
  • Develops and executes sales and marketing strategies and plans, including resource and team member needs within the insurance line of business.
  • Assesses new opportunities and seeks innovative methods for producing solutions to ensure organizational success.

The skills and experience we prefer you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, marketing, agribusiness or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Advanced experience in the financial services industry.
  • Advanced leadership and management experience preferred.

The actual title and base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role is eligible for variable compensation and other benefits.


Base Pay

$146,000$222,400 USD
