General Summary:This position will be the strategic business leader with overall responsibility for post-onboarding Administration services for Colonial Life and Unum. Additionally, this position will have responsibility for the premium application across both Unum and Colonial Life. This leader is responsible for delivering superior customer service to Colonial Life’s account level customers, as well as the sales organization and brokers, for all Colonial Life business. Working with cross functional teams, the role will focus on creating the optimal and most efficient service and administration experience through people, process and technology initiatives working closely with our BPO partners and DTO organization. This leader is accountable for an operating model that will drive industry leading top three box CSAT, reduces operational expense and unit costs and ensures high quality with tight internal fiduciary controls.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Overall operational responsibility for the design and delivery of quality customer service to plan administrators, sales reps/managers, and brokers for all Colonial products and UNUM VB services.
- Responsible for the design, development and implementation of strategic initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency and service levels.
- Responsible for the development of service solutions in partnership with other HO areas and the sales organization to meet diverse market needs and requirements in order to differentiate ourselves in the marketplace.
- Collaborate with IT, other HO areas, sales and senior leadership to identify, develop and implement strategic initiatives (including technology solutions) that improve productivity, efficiency, consistency and service quality in support of unique marketplace requirements.
- Develop strong and collaborative partnerships across the organization to positively influence business retention and sales revenue.
- Help drive top line business growth through delivery of consistent high quality service delivery.
- Ensure effective operational planning & implementation of service and marketing initiatives.
- May perform other duties as assigned, including leadership of cross functional and/or cross company projects to deliver improvements in operational effectiveness/efficiency.
Job Specifications:
- 15+ years of experience required in operational management, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multi-disciplinary operations of a large organization.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance industry operations, products and services.
- Understanding and experience leading an organization through use of Lean operational management tools to create a culture of continuous improvement
- Broad experience in organizational development and process re-design.
- Strong collaboration skills.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$144,900.00-$273,800.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
