Role Overview

The SVP of AI Innovation – Web Scraping will lead the development and execution of Circana’s AI-enabled web scraping capabilities. This role is critical to acquiring external data assets that complement our existing datasets, enabling new services and market expansions. The SVP will establish an in-house team to reduce reliance on external vendors and ensure consistent, scalable data acquisition.

 

Job Responsibilities

- Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute the vision for AI-driven web scraping, aligning with Circana’s broader data strategy.

- Data Acquisition: Develop processes to identify, extract, and integrate data from external sources (e.g., retailer websites, inventory feeds) using advanced AI techniques.

- Technology Enablement: Implement AI and machine learning models to enhance web crawling, data parsing, and classification of scraped content.

- Compliance & Ethics: Ensure all scraping activities adhere to legal and ethical standards, using non-intrusive methods.

- Team Building: Recruit and lead a specialized team focused on web scraping and AI innovation.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, engineering, and analytics teams to deliver data assets for new services (e.g., country expansions, category coverage like pet industry).

- Continuous Improvement: Monitor evolving technologies and adapt strategies to maintain efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

- Proven experience in web scraping and data acquisition at scale, with demonstrated use of AI/ML techniques.

- Strong understanding of data engineering, machine learning, and adaptive algorithms.

- Leadership experience building and managing technical teams.

- Ability to pivot quickly and solve complex data challenges in dynamic environments.

- Familiarity with compliance and data privacy regulations.

Preferred Background:

- 10+ years in data engineering, AI/ML, or related fields.

- Experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer data industries.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $230,000 USD to $236,000 USD.

This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
