Job Summary

Volare Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Accounting to lead all accounting operations across our multi-facility skilled nursing and healthcare organization. This executive-level role ensures accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, strong internal controls, and alignment with organizational financial strategy.

The ideal candidate brings deep healthcare accounting expertise, strong Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement knowledge, and experience leading accounting functions across multiple entities.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll accounting, and fixed assets
  • Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
  • Lead the annual external audit process and coordinate tax matters
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer regulations
  • Monitor facility-level financial performance across multiple locations
  • Standardize accounting processes to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Partner with the CFO on annual budgets and long-range financial planning
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support executive decision-making
  • Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MAC, or MHA) preferred

Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
  • Healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care accounting experience required
  • Direct Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement experience
  • Multi-facility or multi-entity accounting oversight experience

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare financial regulations
  • Expertise in healthcare reimbursement and compliance
  • Executive-level leadership and communication skills
  • Advanced financial analysis and strategic planning capabilities
  • Experience with ERP and healthcare financial systems
