VOLUME 0 is a literary magazine focused on the new lit scene. We publish short fiction by indie authors unafraid to break the mold. We’re a lean team of 3 editors, and are looking for a Brand Manager to join the team to help lead marketing and business development efforts. We are looking for a hands-on person that can both ideate and execute at a granular level.

What You’ll Do…

  • Build a subscriber funnel and online presence to build the business
  • Manage and align the following elements:
    • Website
    • Email program
    • Social media
    • Paid ads
    • Measure and report on performance drawing insights and translating into actionable next steps
  • Onboard, coordinate and work with freelancers and other contributors
  • Potentially participate in or lead:
    • Ad sales and sponsorships
    • Collaborations and partnerships

About You…

  • 4+ years of experience in brand marketing, creative direction, or social strategy at a consumer or lifestyle brand, ideally with a mix of in-house and agency experience.
  • Experience building an enrollment funnel for a content/media/consumer brand.
  • Interest in and knowledge of the indie literary and magazine businesses.
  • You push boundaries and take creative risks with your ideas.
  • You are scrappy, hands-on, and hard working
  • Ability to perform analysis and do math.
  • You are looking for an in-office job.
Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000

Skills Required

  • 4+ years of experience in brand marketing, creative direction, or social strategy at a consumer or lifestyle brand
  • Mix of in-house and agency experience
  • Experience building an enrollment/subscriber funnel for a content, media, or consumer brand
  • Knowledge of and interest in the indie literary and magazine businesses
  • Hands-on execution across website, email programs, social media, and paid ads
  • Ability to measure performance, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable steps
  • Experience onboarding, coordinating, and working with freelancers and contributors
  • Scrappy, hands-on work ethic and willingness to take creative risks
