The Opportunity
As the Visualization Engineer will be pivotal in operationalizing the data and analytics initiatives for VBU function. This role will require both creative and collaborative work with IT and wider business. It will involve evangelizing effective data visualization practices and promoting a better understanding of data visualization and analytics. The Visualization Engineer will be responsible for transforming business requirements to design and build end-to-end analytical solutions. They will leverage best practices for UI/UX, data visualizations and create relevant, innovative, and impactful dashboards supporting the analytical needs of multiple teams, systems, and products.
Responsibilities

• Design aesthetically appealing and informative visualizations from the business requirements and user stories for internal or external stakeholders enabling actionable insights.
• Collaborate with development teams and data scientists to lead the build of front-end UX solutions, operationalizing the advanced statistics and analytics models for various business processes.
• Conceptualize, design, and develop interactive data visualizations that make complex data more accessible and understandable for advocates.
• Rapidly define, design, construct, test, and maintain interactive visualizations or reports as well as resolve data-related issues and conflicts.
• Develop rich interactive visualizations that are intuitive, easy to use, and understand.
• Prepare, blend, and cleanse data from multiple sources to design extracts for optimal use with Tableau.
• Ensure proper documentation of technical requirements and data definitions.

Required skills and qualifications

• Bachelors' Degree, from an accredited institution in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Solid oral and written communication skills in English with a keen sense of customer service.
• Solid data visualization capabilities, including hands-on experience in Tableau (primary) and/or Power BI with an aptitude to learn new tools.
• 3 years experience with Data Visualization.
• Experience developing and shaping data with SQL.
• Experience in Python or similar programming language.
• At least 3 years of experience working in a cross-functional team and collaborating with business stakeholders in support of departmental and/or multi-departmental analytics initiatives.
• Solid knowledge of different chart types and how to leverage them to answer specific questions.
• Hands-on ability to format (UI/UX) your visualizations and dashboards for maximum impact.
• Knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, charting, macros, calculations).
• Solid problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Process-oriented with great documentation skills.
• Ability to perform diagnosis and root cause analysis as well as identify opportunities for improvement.
• Aptitude to learn new technologies especially RShiny, R.

Salary: As a motivated employee, you should be compensated appropriately. The minimum salary for this position is €2.666,67 per month (full time), but your final remuneration package may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
