Meet Your Future NeighborsWe’re looking for a Product Designer with a strong eye for visual detail and a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional design craft across complex workflows. This role sits within our Monetization pillar–shaping the tools that empower local businesses and national advertisers to reach neighbors meaningfully and effectively.
As part of a tight-knit design team, you’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to bring elegant, intuitive solutions to life. You’ll help define the visual language of our business tools and elevate the quality of our advertising experiences. This role reports to the Head of Design, Monetization.

What You’ll Do
- Design visually refined, highly usable interfaces that drive business outcomes and inspire trust
- Create end-to-end workflows across complex tools like campaign creation, ad management, and performance reporting
- Ensure pixel-perfect execution while maintaining usability and clarity in every interaction
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, product marketing, sales, and research to deliver solutions that balance customer needs and business goals
- Use qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions, working closely with researchers and data analysts to validate hypotheses and refine solutions.
- Advocate for a user-first monetization approach, ensuring that ad experiences integrate seamlessly into core user journeys without disrupting engagement
- Contribute to and evolve design systems, ensuring consistency and efficiency in ad-related UI components across surfaces
- Contribute to in-person Nextdoor moments like offsites, trainings, and culture-building activities
- 8+ years of professional experience in product design, with a focus on visual polish and system-level thinking
- A portfolio that demonstrates outstanding visual design within complex product workflows—ideally in tools or platforms used by businesses
- Proficiency in designing across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Desktop, Mobile Web)
- Strong visual storytelling skills and attention to layout, hierarchy, and interaction patterns
- Ability to balance aesthetics and usability, ensuring interfaces are both beautiful and functional
- Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to synthesize insights into actionable design decisions
- Experience working with and contributing to design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across surfaces
- Passion for staying ahead of industry trends, particularly in UX for advertising, personalization, and monetization strategies
- Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create our total rewards package. Compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications. Compensation may also vary by geography.
The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $176,000 to $200,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role.
We expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With quarterly vesting, your first vest date will take place within 3 months of your start date.
