PhotoVogue is seeking a Visual Editor & Curatorial Assistant to support the editorial, curatorial, and operational development of the platform. Based in Milan, the role combines visual editing, artist relations, editorial production, and project coordination, contributing to PhotoVogue’s mission of discovering new voices in photography and fostering a global community of image makers. It works closely with the Head of Global PhotoVogue and collaborates with Editorial teams, artists, and Condé Nast markets worldwide to support platform curation, Open Calls, and festival initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Review and select submissions for publication on the PhotoVogue platform
Identify outstanding talent and support recurring editorial features highlighting emerging photographers
Commission, edit, and coordinate editorial content including articles, interviews, and multimedia stories
Research and identify artists whose work could be featured across PhotoVogue and Condé Nast platforms
Assist in the development, coordination, and curation of PhotoVogue Open Calls by theme or region
Support the curation of PhotoVogue’s social media and digital presence with editorially driven visual content
Liaise with Condé Nast markets to identify opportunities to showcase PhotoVogue artists globally
Support cross-market editorial initiatives and collaborations involving PhotoVogue talent
Assist in the planning and production of the PhotoVogue Festival and related initiatives
Support the coordination of artists, speakers, and contributors involved in exhibitions, talks, and portfolio reviews
Contribute to research and development of special projects, partnerships, and international activations
Primary Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Visual Editor, Photo Editor, Art Curator or similar roles within the Editorial, Photo and Cultural industry
Professional working proficiency in Italian and English, written and spoken. Other languages will represent a strong plus
Strong visual literacy and knowledge of contemporary photography
Interest in emerging photographic talent and global visual culture
Experience with editorial platforms, social media and cultural programming
Excellent editorial judgment and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneousl
Strong organizational and communication skills
