Lyten is seeking a Vision Engineer with a specialization in vision systems for manufacturing equipment. As a Vision Engineer you will be responsible to develop, integrate, and improve vision systems for manufacturing equipment. You will work closely together with production, process, quality, and software engineers to compose algorithms to process massive amounts of manufacturing data for inline and offline processing. You will ensure vision systems integrated in manufacturing equipment meet availability, reliability, and resolve production issues. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define vision system requirements, select suitable hardware and software, and create robust solutions for production lines. 

• Install, configure, and calibrate vision systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing equipment and to Manufacturing Execution System (MES). 

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate system performance, accuracy, and reliability under real-world manufacturing conditions. 

• Analyze data from vision system metrics to identify opportunities for optimization and implement enhancements.  

• Provide ongoing support for deployed machine vision systems, calibration of vision cameras, and troubleshooting issues. 

• Organize and take part in internal training and workshops.  

• Cost estimations for projects and change requests. Provide input for quoting, planning works, and change orders. 

Requirements 

Educational background and previous experience required for the role 

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Software Engineering, Electronics/Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. 

• Experience within Industrial Vision System applications in Battery Cell, Automotive, Semiconductors, Pharma etc.  

Qualifications and Experience 

• Minimum 5 years of experience writing production-level C/C++, Python, or Go. Experience with real-time vision systems and generic programming are highly desirable.  

• Experience with computer vision projects, OpenCV library. 

• Strong mathematical fundamentals including linear algebra, vector calculus, probability, and statics. 

• Basic Git knowledge for creating and merging branches, cherry-picking commits, examining the difference between two hashes. 

Specific skills & Knowledge  

• Expertise with leading vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Teledyne, ISRA etc.) 

• Understand rollout procedures to an automative-grade production line with procedures such as calibration and MSA. 

• Familiarity with image processing, camera calibration and optical principles 

• Understanding of communication protocols (Profinet, EtherCAT, TCP/IP etc.) 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Familiarity with machine learning for vision applications 

• Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
