The VIE Product Developer is part of the R&D and New Product Development (NPD) team and is responsible for supporting the development of new products, formulations, specifications, and brand integrity across Pernod Ricard’s Ready-to-Drink (RTD) portfolio. The role ensures that all product development activities comply with applicable quality, regulatory, and legal requirements.
The primary purpose of the position is to support the development of wet goods, product recipes, formulations, and packaging interactions within the Global RTD Operations team. The role also works closely with the EU Innovation Hub RTD team to develop consumer-focused products for the European market based on globally approved concepts.
Based in Dublin, Ireland, the position requires close collaboration with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. The role also involves engagement with suppliers, external laboratories, and contractors to support product development and testing activities.
The product portfolio primarily encompasses Pernod Ricard’s global strategic brands, as well as a select number of local strategic brands.
Key responsibilities
Maintain formulations, specifications and records for projects on internal systems (MS Teams, Product Vision etc.)
Provide product technical documents, specifications, and information as required to support registrations, investigations and inquiries from markets and stakeholders
Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers (including but not limited to suppliers, copackers, internal cross functional departments)
Facilitate sample requirements and shipments globally
Support repeat sample preparation under the guidance of the product developer
Support processes for faster product development (wet goods/formulas)
Support the transfer of new formulations concepts into finished product at co packers by sharing relevant documentation and samples where needed

Lead sampling of existing products and support development of NPD projects; ensuring delivery according to project time plan
100% accuracy of formulations, specifications and blending instructions shared
100% accuracy of technical data sheets and documents for regulatory submissions
Effective communication and support to NPD/R&D and Operations team

Qualifications/profile and Key Capabilities:
University Degree or College Diploma in a scientific field (Chemistry, Food Science/engineering, Brewing and Distilling, Nutrition)
Microbiology / Food Safety is an asset
Understanding of product development including flavour use, shelf-life testing and sensory testing (especially for RTD products)
Ability to interpret data, prepare reports and certificates
Team player with strong interpersonal /influencing/problem solving skills
Self-starter and self-directed; ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment
Lab experience (especially in beverage development) an asset
Travel may be required (10%)
Ability to participate in regular product tasting and sensory evaluations; certain allergies or sensitivities (e.g., sulphites, coconut, or other ingredients used in the portfolio) may limit the ability to perform key product development responsibilities.
Ability to safely lift and move materials weighing up to 10 kg, including ingredient containers, incoming and outgoing shipments, and case goods, with carts available to support handling where appropriate.
