ABOUT THE POSITION
ResponsibilitiesAs an Editor, your primary mission will be to ensure the visual narrative, pacing, and editorial stability across the sequences while supporting various teams with creative and editorial solutions.
- Narrative & Pacing Mastery: Demonstrate a strong editorial sense for narrative-driven storytelling. Make creative choices regarding rhythm, timing, and shot flow to maximize the emotional and dramatic impact of every cut.
- Shots Assembly & Cross-Team Support: Assemble various iterations and versions of cinematics, mocap videos, trailers, or other internal videos. Follow or create template layouts (i.e., multi-view reference videos that combine previs, in-engine views, and the mocap actor's performance) and overlay technical notes. Provide dedicated editorial support for different departments across the pipeline to facilitate their workflows and reviews.
- Autonomous and Proactive: Understand project constraints and storytelling requirements, anticipate challenges, and deliver high-quality editorial solutions within tight production schedules. Follow up on editorial feedback and track and report changes when necessary.
- Audio Implementation: Source, use, and add placeholder audio (such as SFX and temp music) to enhance the pacing and emotional impact of the edit before final sound mixing. Update timelines with the latest audio, adjust the audio to fit project requirements if necessary, and meticulously track all versions and changes.
- Titles & 2D VFX: When necessary, overlay technical notes and timecodes for the team. For trailers or internal videos, you will need to design and integrate 2D VFX elements to enhance scenes, as well as create dynamic, high-quality animated titles and fonts directly within the edit.
- Experience: At least 5 or more years of post-production or editing experience. Previous work on live-action films or editing trailers (especially game trailers) is highly desirable. Experience with animated features, AAA game cinematics, or animated TV shows is a major bonus.
- Storytelling Acumen: A refined eye for visual storytelling and narrative structure, backed by a strong instinct for timing and pacing.
- Software Proficiency: Highly familiar and proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro and/or DaVinci Resolve along with a deep understanding of various audio and video formats and codecs.
- Language Skills: A good level of English (both written and spoken) is strictly required, as most projects and team communications are in English.
- Audio Skills: Proven experience working with audio layers, including mixing, balancing, and placing placeholder SFX and temp tracks.
Good to have:
- Motion Capture Proficiency: Experience working with mocap projects is a plus, specifically handling, editing, and syncing mocap reference footage with in-engine and previz renders.
- Motion Graphics & VFX: Strong experience in creating animated titles and working with typography, alongside practical knowledge of integrating 2D VFX into timelines.
- Soft Skills: A strong team player with a collaborative mindset who enjoys creative challenges, is highly attentive to detail, and excels at tracking project updates.
