Job Description:
Work with the Acquisition Finance Coverage team in providing leveraged finance origination and execution expertise to leveraged corporate clients and Private Equity-owned companies. Originate and execute leveraged finance transactions, including LBO financing for US-based acquisition targets and other corporate or private equity related transactions such as refinancings and dividend recapitalizations. Perform idea generation, pitching, structuring, credit analysis, modeling, authoring credit memos, legal documentation review, and managing closing processes for new transactions. Prepare initial screening memos and credit approval packages, including due diligence, financial modeling, and credit documentation review for new transactions. Prepare client marketing presentations, operating and LBO models, comp sheets, rating models, economic return models, and collateral documents. Closely collaborate with other Capital Markets & Advisory teams, Risk Management and Loan Operations teams. Work closely with senior bankers and business originators and serve as the point of contact and coordinator for deal execution processes. Act as the key liaison partner for sponsor capital markets teams and, in close cooperation with the Financial Sponsor Group that covers ING’s priority private equity sponsors. Work with the Sector organization on acquisition and leveraged capital markets activities in the corporate arena. Oversee deal teams. Perform the role of team staffer, allocating the workload efficiently to the junior staff.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Finance or Management and minimum 3 years of [or bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent as stated above and 5 years of] banking experience working with leveraged finance transactions. Must have experience working with the following: various debt products including revolving credit facilities, leveraged loans and high-yield bonds; IFRS, GAAP accounting principles, and core financial statements including income statement, cash flow statement and balance sheets; building fully functional dynamic financial models in Excel; credit training including credit risk, loan management, and loan structuring; asset-based lending, structured lending, and syndicated finance; performing credit analysis including reviewing financial documents, translating data into complex financial models, and conducting scenario analysis to assess a company’s creditworthiness; performing industry, implied credit ratings profile, and peer group analysis; writing credit applications; executing all stages of deal origination and financing transactions; and conducting pitch presentation for clients and internal stakeholders.

Skills Required
- Master's degree in Finance or Management (or Bachelor's with additional experience) or foreign equivalent
- Minimum 3 years banking experience (with Master's) or 5 years banking experience (with Bachelor's) working on leveraged finance transactions
- Experience with debt products including revolving credit facilities, leveraged loans, and high-yield bonds
- Knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and core financial statements (income statement, cash flow, balance sheet)
- Ability to build fully functional, dynamic financial models in Excel (including LBO models)
- Credit training/experience including credit risk, loan management, and loan structuring
- Experience with asset-based lending, structured lending, and syndicated finance
- Experience performing credit analysis, scenario analysis, and translating financial documents into complex models
- Experience performing industry, implied credit ratings profile, and peer group analysis
- Experience writing credit applications and preparing credit approval packages and screening memos
- Proven experience executing all stages of deal origination, structuring, documentation review, and closing processes
- Experience preparing client marketing presentations, comp sheets, rating and economic return models, and collateral documents
- Ability to present pitches to clients and internal stakeholders and act as deal coordinator
- Experience managing and overseeing deal teams and allocating workload to junior staff
