QUALITY ENGINEERING VICE PRESIDENT (CHAPTER LEADER) –

Approved Location(s) for role: Merrimack, NH, Westlake, TX, Jersey City, NJ

The Workplace Investing Quality Engineering team is seeking a multifaceted, forward thinking organizational leader who is passionate about the customer and committed to quality.   Strategic mentality coupled with technical competence of Quality practices drives our ideal candidate toward execution and delivery, while they lead and develop a distributed team of Quality Engineers in our Stock Plan Services Quality Engineering Organization.

In this role it will be critical for you to have a solid understanding of Equity Compensation programs, brokerage and our wealth platforms.  The intersection between these three areas create a unique solution for our clients to offer best in class equity compensation programs. 

As the VP Chapter Leader of the Quality Engineering, you blend deep software engineering experience, innovation mindset and execution capabilities with a passion for coaching, mentoring and developing managers and associates.

The successful candidate will bring a creative mindset, industry perspectives and best practice knowledge, be prepared to challenge the status quo and have proven ability to influence partner adoption of tools and services.  You are deeply committed to contributing value to our customers and providing focus for the team to increase quality of throughput while extending quality practices.   You will be a manager of managers leading teams delivering products for the Workplace Investing business (WI).   You actively bring new ideas, approaches and insights to improve how the work is delivered,  foster new skills and capabilities in your area, enabling associate growth while adding greater value. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to the role and empower others with that knowledge.

Some key areas the candidate will need to focus on include creating a culture that reinforces quality but focuses on the work from a wholistic perspective.  In addition, establishing a strategy for the Quality Engineering team that blends with the product and development team will be critical.  Establishing relationships, building a strong quality engineering practice and seeking for continuous improvement is critical.

Specifically, you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders globally to deliver technology products for the Workplace Investing business.
  • Ensure talent composition aligns with strategic priorities, including consistent workforce planning vital to deliver value and results for our customers.
  • Support, mentor and develop leaders across the globe to deliver increased value to the product areas and the teams they support.
  • Translate strategic and enterprise initiatives into meaningful insights.
  • Proactively partner with leaders across business domains, product areas, centers of excellence etc. to:
    • Influence strategic decisions and priorities related to your domain of expertise and remove impediments to delivering value.
    • Measure performance through established objectives and KPI’s to deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people outcomes.
    • Support people leaders across quality engineering to identify and develop talent, optimize organization structures, and identify and build meaningful learning opportunities.
    • Reinforce consistency in and application of standards, collaborate with adjacent enterprise groups, and ensure the work performed is aligned with established road maps.
    • Actively share insights, knowledge, industry practices and developments within your area of expertise, across the organization.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, B.Sc. in Computer Science preferred.
  • 10-15+ years experience in a technology setting.
  • Senior level experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing large teams teams. (20+)
  • Proven record of identifying and developing strategic quality engineering talent.
  • Agile leadership experience
  • You are a committed and inspirational people leader capable of developing others within your knowledge area to accelerate and achieve increased skill proficiency.
  • You have strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Bring a track record of continuous improvement and success in fostering agile ways of working.
  • As a culture creator you can succinctly share perspectives and articulate expectations to ensure consistency of understanding and practice in a cross-functional environment.
  • You are intellectually curious and model a culture of continuous learning, mentoring, and coaching.
  • You take a data-focused approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses.

The Team

The WI Technology teams design, develop, implement, and support a suite of products and services used across Workplace Investing and beyond. Our goal is to create an outstanding user experience that delights our Workplace Investing associates, anticipates their needs, and matches services or solutions to support effective decision making. Our work embodies a globally distributed, fast paced, dynamic Quality Engineering organization that is using innovative technologies to create the next generation of high-quality best in class experiences.   The successful candidate will collaborate with other Chapter Leaders, people and product leaders aligned to Workplace Investing across the globe focused on our Equity Compensations (Stock Plan Services Business.)

The base salary range for this position is $124,000-$262,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
