Job Description

As VP, SEO, within Jellyfish's Earned Media capability, you will architect, evolve, and scale our SEO practice - ensuring that it remains at the forefront of organic search through direct technical innovation and high-calibre consulting.

We are looking for a powerhouse specialist who leads by example. Your impact will be felt through the hands-on development of Earned Media products, automation frameworks, and AI-led search strategies. You will lead in your own way - and primarily by example - personally driving growth for your clients by applying your market-leading expertise in SEO, alongside your exploration into GEO. You will also be working collaboratively across channels to ensure a holistic approach to “Generative Engine Marketing” for a portfolio of Tier 1, global Jellyfish accounts.

In this role, you will have direct hands-on access to our proprietary technology, including Share of ModelTM. You will have the unique opportunity to master these technologies for client success while actively shaping their future development and evolution as a lead specialist.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Work with other VPs and C-Suite leaders to architect the long-term SEO capability roadmap, ensuring a deep technical understanding of how AI Search and GEO integrate with wider Earned Media goals.

  • Drive the development of SEO technology partnerships and proprietary tools, personally ensuring Jellyfish builds and adopts solutions that enhance delivery in an AI-first search landscape.

  • Master and deploy proprietary technology such as Share of Model, using hands-on insights to influence the product roadmap and technical application for Tier 1 clients.

  • Spearhead the creation of SEO learning programs, personally setting the standard for skill development in AI search methodologies and LLM-based optimization.

  • Define and build the global SEO product strategy, directly driving forward innovation through hands-on experimentation with GEO and emerging search behaviors.

  • Increase revenue by partnering with Sales, Client Management, and a range of Capabilities to anchor new business opportunities with deep subject matter expertise in multi-channel organic growth.

  • Lead the strategic execution of capability growth plans, ensuring that SEO remains a technically superior and commercially sustainable offering within the evolving AI ecosystem.

  • Navigate account growth and renewal cycles by providing high-level technical consultancy that secures client retention through future-proofed AI Search strategies.

  • Lead the most critical new business opportunities, architecting compelling proposals and personally designing solutions that prioritize GEO alongside traditional search excellence.

  • Engineer the processes and quality control measures required to maintain consistency and technical excellence in SEO and AI-driven content delivery.

  • Conduct deep-dive reviews of SEO solutions and execution standards, providing direct recommendations for continuous improvement in cross-channel integration.

  • Be the lead specialist for the most critical Earned Media Steering plans, ensuring that all projects align with Jellyfish's strategic goals

  • Be the trusted lead consultant and primary authority for designated Tier 1 SEO accounts - guiding both SEO and GEO together

  • Represent Jellyfish externally, acting as a premier subject matter expert on the future of search

  • Champion SEO innovation, developing new strategies and methodologies to maintain Jellyfish's position as a global leader in Earned Media and the generative conversation.

Skills
  • 12+ years of experience as a deep subject matter expert in SEO, including enterprise SEO strategy, automation, and advanced data-driven methodologies.

  • Proven expertise in pioneering AI Search strategies and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) to drive visibility within LLMs and generative engines.

  • Hands-on experience using and influencing proprietary marketing technology to drive competitive advantage.

  • Ability to translate complex technical AI and SEO concepts into high-level business strategies for clients and company partners.

  • Experience with cross-channel marketing, collaborating with Paid Media and Data Science to drive unified brand visibility as part of a holistic GEM approach.

  • The ability to structure and price complex SEO and AI-focused engagements for profitability based on technical requirements.

  • Expertise in navigating client growth cycles through expert-led upselling and securing long-term technical partnerships in the AI space.

  • Proficiency in leading high-stakes new business pitches by creating expert-driven narratives around the future of AI search.

  • Experience mentoring junior and senior practitioners, providing high-level strategic guidance and technical career development support in modern search methodologies.

  • Experience leading technical transformation plans and influencing partners at the highest levels through demonstrated expertise in AI and multi-channel strategy.

  • Experience in defining and building SEO operational frameworks that account for the speed and scale of AI-driven search environments.

  • Monitor and evaluate performance against defined indicators and team goals, ensuring a culture of continuous technical innovation.
