The Role

The Company:

The Role:
Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial, the Vice President, Sales will be instrumental in building and leading the U.S. sales organization as we prepare for the launch of zidesamtinib and neladalkib, potential best-in-class therapies for biomarker-directed NSCLC. Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial, this individual will develop and execute the U.S. sales strategy, recruit and manage a high-performing field sales team, and oversee the establishment of a robust Sales Training function. Cross-functional collaboration will be key to ensuring launch readiness and market success.

Responsibilities:
•    Sales Strategy Development: Design and execute a comprehensive U.S. sales strategy, ensuring market readiness and alignment with Nuvalent’s commercial goals.
•    Lead the development of sales processes and infrastructure including customer targeting, territory alignment, patient-identification efforts, and incentive compensation programs. 
•    Team Building & Leadership: Recruit, hire, and develop a high-performing field sales team capable of driving excellence in execution and customer engagement

•    Serve as a member of the US Commercial leadership team, contributing to strategic direction and attainment of company-wide goals
•    Sales Training Function: Establish and oversee a robust Sales Training program to prepare the field force with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in a dynamic market.
•    Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other internal teams to ensure seamless launch readiness and market success.
o    Work closely with the brand team to set launch targets, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and proactively manage incentives and metrics.
o    Work closely with Legal, Regulatory, and Compliance to ensure all sales activities and are compliant with industry regulations and guidelines. 
o    Collaborate with the Market Access on account strategy that coordinates the efforts of the sales team and other field teams.
o    Collaborate with Market Access to support patient access to our medicines. Continuously assess performance and adjust strategies to optimize results. 
o    Ensure coordination of field-facing teams working with Medical Affairs
•     Launch Preparation: Lead sales readiness initiatives for the successful commercialization of zidesamtinib and neladalkib, aligning resources and strategies to maximize impact.

•    Characteristics include being entrepreneurial, collaborative, and an energetic self-starter with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree. MBA or equivalent degree preferable
•    15+ years biopharma experience including oncology launch experience; NSCLC and biotech experience preferable
•    10+ years of US oncology sales experience in leadership roles
•    Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize projects effectively and communicate at all levels within the company
•    Strong knowledge of analytics and operations tools/technologies 
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills (including presentation skills)
•    Up to 50% domestic travel
