Position Summary-

The Vice President of Sales is responsible for leading commercial growth initiatives across targeted distributed power, utility, data center, and strategic infrastructure markets. This high impact leadership role drives market development, opportunity origination, customer engagement, pricing strategy, and commercial execution to secure profitable, long-term business aligned with the company’s growth objectives.

This role is accountable for identifying and shaping complex commercial opportunities, developing executive-level customer relationships, and partnering with operations, engineering, finance, and leadership to deliver tailored power solutions that meet customer requirements and company profitability expectations. The Vice President of Sales will serve as a market-facing leader who translates customer demand, competitive intelligence, and industry trends into scalable commercial strategy and revenue growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial growth initiatives across distributed power, data center, utility, industrial, and other targeted market segments.
  • Originate, develop, and advance strategic opportunities from initial market engagement through proposal development, negotiation, contract execution, and handoff to operations.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key customers, partners, developers, EPCs, utilities, and other stakeholders to expand market presence and drive revenue growth.
  • Lead the commercial strategy for large and complex opportunities, including pricing, commercial terms, contract structure, and margin optimization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, finance, legal, and executive leadership to ensure commercial commitments align with technical capability, operational readiness, and financial objectives.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for priority verticals, customer segments, and geographic markets.
  • Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, customer demand, and industry trends to inform commercial strategy and business planning.
  • Own pipeline management, forecast accuracy, and commercial reporting, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance updates within CRM systems.
  • Establish commercial processes and sales discipline that improve opportunity conversion, pricing consistency, and overall execution effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the sales organization to strengthen market knowledge, solution fluency, and business development capability.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and other external forums to promote the company’s capabilities and expand commercial opportunities.

Education, Experience and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership within distributed power, power generation, energy infrastructure, utility services, or related markets.
  • Demonstrated success originating, shaping, and closing complex commercial opportunities involving long sales cycles, customized technical solutions, and executive-level negotiation.
  • Experience developing and negotiating commercial agreements, strategic partnerships, pricing structures, and other complex contractual arrangements.
  • Strong understanding of power generation technologies and applications, including natural gas generation, distributed power systems, electrical distribution equipment, battery systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Experience serving customers in data center, utility, industrial, energy, or other critical infrastructure sectors is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing commercial teams while driving accountability, process rigor, and market-facing performance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and relationship management skills, with the ability to translate technical and commercial inputs into compelling customer solutions.

Certifications

Relevant industry certifications, commercial training, or professional development related to power generation, energy infrastructure, project development, or sales leadership are desired.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and working on a computer may be required.
  • The role may require travel to customer sites, company locations, industry events, and other business meetings.
  • Domestic travel, including overnight stays, may be required based on business needs and could be up to 75%.
