Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Health Administration, or related field. Masters preferred.
Job Summary:
The Vice President of Quality is responsible for strategic leadership, oversight, and implementation of an integrated approach toward driving excellence in quality, safety, and patient outcomes across Essentia Health. This position serves as the dyad partner to the Chief Patient Quality and Safety Officer and works collaboratively with all levels of leadership to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care through a comprehensive quality program.
Key Responsibilities:

Define and implement long-term goals that align with the organization’s mission while effectively managing resources and navigating challenges.

Ensure patient-centered care through placing the patient at the forefront of all healthcare processes and decisions. Foster a culture of empathy, respect, and responsiveness to individual patient circumstances while designing systems that prioritize quality, safety, and personalized care delivery.

Anticipate future trends, inspire innovation, and unify teams around a shared transformative vision.

Understand, navigate, and utilize technological tools and platforms to effectively enhance decision-making, facilitate communication, and drive outcomes.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators across the organization, while employing data storytelling to enhance health outcomes and performance improvement. Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of quality data to drive improvement.

Oversee regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and laws. Lead the preparation for regulatory surveys and accreditation visits. Developing and maintaining relationships with regulatory agencies, government programs, and accrediting bodies.

Inspire and guide colleagues through change while maximizing efficiency and effectiveness. Foster a culture of flexibility, innovation, and continuous learning, ensuring teams can adapt to evolving challenges.

Understand and optimize interconnected processes through systems thinking, integrating high-reliability principles, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the health care field required, including leadership experience preferably within an integrated health system.

Demonstrated experience in quality improvement methodologies, patient safety principles, and regulatory requirements.

Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical processes, and evidence-based practices.

Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership experience including working with clinicians and varying levels of leadership.

Positive, future-oriented mindset; proactive, self-directed, intuitive.

Strong organizational, project and analytical skills required

Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment.
