ROLE DESCRIPTION
meoSphere is SES's next-generation Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellite constellation, designed to deliver secure connectivity services to government agencies, enterprises, and commercial customers. It will also provide high-speed broadband internet to eliminate global connectivity dead zones.
To accelerate development timelines, reduce costs, and ensure quality, SES is internalizing a critical segment of the satellite supply chain: the final integration of partner satellite platforms with SES's software-defined payloads, all within a cutting-edge manufacturing and test facility.
As a Vice President, Programme Management, meoSphere, you will be responsible to:
- Oversee and ensure strategic alignment with organizational goals and translate the goals into a dedicated programme plan
- Establish, lead, and manage the programmatic aspects - cost, schedule, technical performance - of the end-to-end next-generation MEO constellation and ground segment program, from design and development through integration, test, and deployment.
- Direct a small team of technical program managers responsible for cross-functional alignment and delivery.
- Drive the program to ensure it meets the needs of both commercial markets and government customers, including regulatory, security, and operational requirements.
- Foster a culture of innovation, speed, and accountability, leveraging iterative development, rapid prototyping, and continuous learning.
- Integrate best practices from the new space industry: agile program management, modular architecture, lean processes, and commercial-grade supply chains.
- Implement and utilize modern tools and digital engineering approaches, including AI/ML, collaboration tools, MBSE platforms, and digital twins to manage cost, requirements, schedules, and risks individually and for the department.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including space segment, ground segment, software components, manufacturing and supply chain, and regulatory groups to ensure system-level cohesion.
- Establish and maintain clear programme roadmaps, KPIs, and risk registers, and report out effectively to senior leadership and customers.
- Manage relationships with partners, subcontractors, and vendors across both traditional and emerging aerospace sectors.
- Act as the primary interface for internal executives and external stakeholders, including government sponsors, ensuring transparency and strategic alignment
- Contribute in building a new way of developing constellation systems, with the ability to verticalize and exercise design, financial, and schedule control across the segments (satellites, ground, user terminal) and products of the system.
