Role Overview

We are seeking a highly process-oriented VP of Product to lead product delivery and operational excellence across the product planning and delivery lifecycle. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives in fast-moving scale-up environments and is energized by building structure, driving alignment, and owning roadmap outcomes. 

This role will report directly to our Chief Executive Officer, who currently also serves as the Chief Product Officer. The VP of Product is not expected to own the product vision. Rather, we are looking for a leader who can synthesize product vision and customer feedback, translate strategy into action, and ensure consistent, high-quality execution across multiple product initiatives concurrently. The ideal candidate is deeply organized, highly process-driven, and comfortable building and owning the systems, processes and workflows that power product development at Audyence. 

For clarity, the role is accountable for:  

  • Translating vision into clear, executable product plans
  • Building a repeatable, scalable product planning operating system
  • Driving speed, quality, and consistency of execution
  • Leveraging AI and automation to significantly increase team output
  • Ensuring engineering resources are deployed with maximum efficiency focusing on ROI of product development 

This is a highly execution-oriented leadership role with a strong emphasis on systems thinking, process rigor, and operational excellence.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Enhance the Product Operating System
    • Design and implement a structured, scalable product development framework across:
      • Discovery
      • Requirements definition (PRDs)
      • Prioritization
      • Sprint Planning
      • Release Management
  • Establish standardized templates, workflows, and governance mechanisms
  • Ensure product development operates as a system, not a collection of ad hoc activities
  • Create a durable foundation that scales with the teams' growth and product complexity
  • Translates Vision into Execution
    • Convert CEO-defined product vision and customer-defined product feedback into:
      • Clear product requirements 
      • Accurately scoped features and initiatives 
      • Sequenced roadmaps aligned to business priorities 
  • Pressure-test ideas for feasibility, scope, and impact
  • Ensure engineering teams receive unambiguous, build-ready specifications
  • Drive Product Velocity & Execution Quality
    • Own delivery performance across all product initiatives 
    • Improve
      • Sprint predictability 
      • Cycle ties
      • Output quality
    • Enforce strong backlog hygiene, clear acceptance criteria, and disciplined sprint planning
    • Continuously identify and eliminate bottlenecks in the product development lifecycle
  • Implement AI-Driven Product Workflows
    • Partner with AI Operations to identify and deploy AI tools to automate and enhance product workflows, including:
      • PRD generation and refinement
      • Backlog structuring and ticket creation
      • Documentation and knowledge management
      • User story development and acceptance criteria
    • Reduce manual work across the product team
    • Increase output per team member through intelligent automation
    • Establish best practices for AI-assisted product development
  • Own Prioritization & Resource Allocation
    • Own product prioritization frameworks aligned to:
      • Revenue impact
      • Strategic initiatives (Rocks)
      • Customer value
    • Ensure engineering resources are focused on the highest ROI initiatives 
    • Act as the primary gatekeeper for engineering capacity 
    • Serve as the central connector between Engineering, Marketing, Sales and Partnerships, structuring and operationalizing feedback loops from GTM teams 
  • Product Quality, User Experience & Continuous Improvement
    • Establish and enforce standards for:
      • Product quality
      • Usability and simplicity
      • Consistency across the platform
      • Feature adoption
      • User engagement
      • Upgrade conversion rates
    • Partner with QA to implement rigorous testing processes 
    • Ensure the product reflects Audyence’s commitment to intuitive, high-quality user experiences
  • Drive continuous improvement based on data and outcomes 
  • Team Leadership and Development 
    • Lead and develop the product function, including
      • Product Managers 
      • Product Designers 
    • Reinforce our culture of 
      • Ownership
      • Execution rigor
      • Systems thinking 
      • Continuous Improvement
    • Hire and scale the team as needed to support growth 

Qualifications

  • 8 to 12+ years of experience in product management, with 2+ years in senior product leadership roles 
  • Strong track record of driving execution across complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement systems and processes (ideally from the ground up) that improve product velocity and execution quality in a scaling organization while ensuring maximum ROI of engineering time spend 
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools to improve workflows and productivity
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously 
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through 
  • Ability to operate with urgency and deliver results in fast-paced environments 
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Hands-on mindset with a willingness to step in wherever needed to ensure success
  • Preferred:
  • Experience working with or building products in sales intelligence, or marketing technology
  • Experience with modern BI tools and leveraging data-analytics to derive insights and make action plans
  • Experience in both large organizations where processes are well defined and in small organizations where you’ve had to implement these processes, personally
