The Payments market is constantly evolving with new initiatives such as Open Banking, ISO20022 and payments innovations on mobile banking, cross border linkages and new digital currencies. This role will lead the agenda for new payments initiatives, compliance and industry mandates and play a pivotal role in influencing the broader thinking on payments strategy including driving digital adoption and focus on payments related controls.

The Payments Product manager will be responsible for driving strategic product initiatives, act as SME to provide daily support, drive client experience and digital channel development.

This role is responsible for the development of product plans, execution strategies, meeting regulatory and industry mandates and representing product across multiple regional & global forums.  This will require conducting detailed analysis of the business, processes, controls, governance, and front to back operating issues; defining corresponding solutions; and working with Front Office, change management team, Control Functions, Technology, Operations and internal and external Citi partners to drive the implementation of solutions.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record in product management, is familiar with banking regulatory policies, excels at building strong relationships and demonstrates exceptional communication skills.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and shape the Payment product strategy across diverse client segments including Citigold, Citi Private Client and Citi Private Bank
  • Own day-to-day product management for core Payment products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies as well as help the team prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to achieve business results
  • Support product head to define, develop, and implement product strategies through analyzing customer behavior and preferences, competitive best practices, and product economics
  • Serve as subject matter expert and has oversight over the client experience, product features and servicing processes
  • Initiate, plan and manages initiatives throughout the entire project lifecycle working with cross-functional project teams within Citi and external partners
  • Manage product approvals, define product requirements, create user stories, define acceptance criteria, oversee testing status, and post implementation activities
  • Make recommendations based on regulatory changes, competition, consumer trends and market research
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify key opportunities that drive innovation, increase revenue and enhance the client experience 
  • Maintain effective risk management and controls, perform review of control procedures, work with control and risk partners to ensure adequate controls in place
  • Promote risk and compliance awareness within Payment product team

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Experience managing across multi-function and/or global business
  • Comprehensive knowledge of payments products, digital payment channels and regulation
  • Keen interest in the Future of Payments technology and open banking infrastructure
  • Experience in process & control design, project management of global project
  • Prior experience in Wealth Management or Private Banking preferred

Skills:

  • Product Management & payments experience is a must
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships across functional lines
  • Professional outlook with the ability to use initiative, manage deadlines, coordinate multiple tasks and work to deadlines and targets
  • Excellent planning, organizing and delivery skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated, strong business acumen and team player
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree. Master’s degree preferred.
