Job Summary

Responsible for leading the development and execution of White Cap’s enterprise data strategy, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the organization. This role sets the vision for data management, oversees data governance frameworks, and directs teams focused on data quality, integrity, and security.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Defines and executes the Master Data Management (MDM) strategy, ensuring alignment with overarching business goals and objectives.

• Develops and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures to ensure data quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance. Oversee data quality initiatives to maintain integrity and reliability across all systems.

• Collaborates closely with Business Intelligence and Data Science teams to ensure data is accessible, accurate, and reliable—empowering informed decision-making across the organization.

• Communicates effectively with stakeholders across departments and organizational levels, managing expectations and fostering alignment and transparency in data initiatives.

• Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance data management capabilities and drive improvements in overall business performance.

• Develops and implement robust security measures to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with applicable data protection regulations and industry standards.

• Oversees the execution of Master Data Management projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget constraints.

• Problems are complex and difficult. Solutions require complicated, extensive analysis and detailed investigation.

• Sets or changes the operational plans/goals of an area/business.

• Leads major business processes or support functions to execute company strategies.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

• Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree with over 7 years of professional experience in a related field, including several years in a management role having significant business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in distribution or retail business environments.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large teams within a matrixed organization, with a strong track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives and driving organizational change.

• In-depth knowledge of data management technologies, including data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data integration.

• Familiarity with relevant data privacy regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
