Role Summary
The Vice President will support investor relations and fundraising efforts across 50 South Capital, with a primary focus on the wealth channel. This role will serve as a key point of contact for financial advisors and high net worth clients, while also contributing broadly to the firm’s investor relations, product positioning, and client communication efforts.
Working closely with senior team members, the role is focused on relationship development, advisor engagement, and day-to-day execution, complemented by involvement in firmwide initiatives including product launches, investor communications, and cross-team coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Advisor Coverage & Relationship Management
Serve as a primary point of contact for financial advisors and wealth partners, both within Northern Trust and externally
Build and maintain relationships through regular in-person engagement and travel
Support client conversations, portfolio reviews, and education sessions
Business Development & Fundraising Execution
Partner with senior team members to drive capital raising efforts across the platform
Maintain and advance a pipeline of opportunities, while supporting broader firm fundraising initiatives
Identify opportunities to deepen relationships across both internal and external wealth managers
Firmwide Investor Relations Support
Contribute to investor relations activities across the platform, including:
Responding to investor and internal partner requests
Supporting client servicing efforts
Coordinating with internal teams on ongoing initiatives
Partner with investment, operations, and product teams to ensure consistency and accuracy of information shared with clients
Client Communication & Content Development
Assist in the creation and maintenance of investor presentations, commentary, and client materials
Translate complex strategies into clear, advisor-friendly messaging
Support ongoing communication around fund performance and market developments
Product & Platform Engagement
Support new product development and fund launches, including positioning and go-to-market efforts
Develop a strong understanding of the firm’s private equity, private credit, and hedge fund offerings
Provide feedback from the field to inform product strategy and messaging
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Help ensure a coordinated and seamless client experience across the platform
Work closely with Investment teams, Product management, Operations and fund administrators, and Northern Trust sales and relationship teams
Necessary Skills and Experience
~6–10+ years of experience in investor relations, alternatives sales, or private markets fundraising
Strong understanding of the Alternatives market, particularly private markets (private equity, credit, secondaries)
Experience working with or covering wealth / intermediary channels
Willingness to travel and build relationships in person
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to operate across multiple priorities and stakeholders, including a hands on approach to supporting all Investor Relations content and support
Salary Range:
$164,600 - 288,000 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
