Role Summary
The Vice President will be responsible for working closely with Investor Relations partners and Alternative Sales to respond to investor and internal partner requests, provide client updates, participate in new product development and launches, review and create investor presentations, review monthly and quarterly fund performance updates, and develop a deep knowledge of 50 South Capital’s hedge fund, private equity, and private credit offerings. The position will work closely with the investment and operations teams, the funds’ service providers, internal Northern Trust sales channels and external clients.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Support senior investor relations team in business development and client service activities, including internal sales support, pipeline development, market strategy and product development.
- Support senior investor relations staff in creating new investor presentations, developing strategy commentary, and client updates.
- Establish deep understanding of the firm’s products, investments and capabilities, and develop independent ability to communicate capabilities and investments to prospective investors, current clients and internal partners.
- Oversee performance materials and marketing materials, to ensure data integrity, enhance content and ensure efficient delivery of information.
- Ability to multi-task and operate within a large organization. The candidate must be well organized, detail oriented and disciplined in approach to completing time sensitive responsibilities.
- High level of integrity and character, and strives to share with the team in the successes of the organization.
- Will report to a team of senior staff to acquire and develop knowledge of the fund of fund business and client communication.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
- Basic understanding of the Alternatives markets, including private equity, private credit and/or hedge funds.
- High level of intellectual curiosity and desire to continually learn about the alternatives industry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and capability to communication skills in client meetings and fundraising settings.
- Highly proficient with Excel and creating and editing presentations in PowerPoint.
- Self-starter with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a collegial, team environment.
- Highly responsive and strong desire to work in the best interest of the internal partners and external clients.
- Ability to prioritize workload and shift attention among many changing tasks.
Necessary Experience and Education
- A College or University degree and/or relevant proven work experience is required.
- The ideal candidate for this position will have previous 8 to 10 years of experience serving in a client servicing and support role in the Alternatives asset management industry.
- Experience with/understanding of fund structures, and private equity and hedge fund strategies.
Salary Range:
$137,400 - 233,600 USDSalary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
