Business Unit Overview:
The Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS) division provides operational support to BlackRock Funds’ portfolio management teams and clients. Together with Financial Statements Review, Regulatory Filings and Audit and Support organizations, the BlackRock Fund Administration teams have the responsibilities for all NAV and fund accounting matters and, financial & regulatory reporting ("BlackRock Funds”), We are central to BlackRock’s operations in providing subject matter expertise, supervising fund administrator service delivery in relation fund accounting, financial reporting and regulatory filings, supervising operational capacity for new products, giving to projects in relation to product launches and collaborating closely with fund administrators, auditors, fund directors and portfolio managers. The group comprises of multiple teams and is organized both functionally and regionally.
Job Purpose/Background:
The financial reporting team carries out co-ordination, oversight and technical review activities over the end-to-end financial documents. The team works closely with several internal and external partners such as the fund administrators, auditors, directors and multiple internal departments, to improve efficiency, build consistency across the fund range and monitor technical accuracy. Currently, the teams support approximately 4000 funds within BlackRock.
Strategic role coordinates financial and regulatory reporting accuracy and timeliness across diverse fund structures and regions. This role requires deep technical expertise, critical analytical thinking, and strong collaborator management to ensure compliance, drive improvements in execution, and support business growth. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team or be subject matter expert, provide oversight across reporting cycles, and act as a key point of escalation for technical and operational challenges

Key Responsibilities
Oversight of Financial Reporting for Funds & Regulations: Provide oversight for financial statement and regulatory reports, ensuring alignment with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, US GAAP) and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Form NPORT, Form NCEN, AIFMD CIMA FAR)
Critical Analysis & Review: Lead the critical review and analysis of financial data, disclosures, and regulatory submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams (e.g., Fund Accounting, Risk, Legal, Compliance) and partners (e.g., auditors, fund administrators, regulators).
Technical Issue Resolution: Investigate complex accounting and regulatory issues, provide expert guidance, and develop solutions in collaboration with subject matter experts.
Process Governance & Control: Ensure robust governance over reporting processes, including documentation, control testing, and audit readiness.
Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop a team of reporting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Strategic Initiatives & Change Management: Drive initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency, implement automation, and improve data quality and transparency.
Skills/Qualifications:
The role would suit a qualified accountant (CPA, CIMA or ACCA) with significant audit experience in investment management or financials services audit or, alternatively, with 12-15+ experience within a financial or regulatory reporting environment at a fund administrator.
