Job Summary/Overview
The Vice President of Finance is a senior executive role responsible for safeguarding the financial health of the organization and shaping its financial strategy, with a specialized focus on construction and land development operations. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the VP of Finance will lead all financial planning and analysis, oversee budgeting and forecasting, insurance, and ensure regulatory compliance and sound internal controls. This role will act as a strategic business partner, supporting organizational growth, evaluating major development initiatives, and driving profitability across all business units.

- Lead and oversee all core financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Serve as a strategic financial advisor to executive leadership, with a focus on construction, land development, and related capital investments.
- Provide financial leadership and oversight on development projects, ensuring robust cost control, margin analysis, and capital planning.
- Develop and maintain financial models and project-specific ROI analyses to support business case evaluations and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a high-performing culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Partner cross-functionally with construction, land development, operations, and sales teams to align financial processes with business objectives.
- Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
- Support and lead capital planning and financing strategies, including debt structuring and banking relationship management.
- Drive efficiency through the evaluation and implementation of scalable systems, tools, and financial reporting processes.
- Monitor and manage organizational cash flow, working capital, and overall cost performance across departments.
- Responsible for Insurance procurement for all entities. Function as Risk Manager for Property and Casualty policies, Liability policies. Must work across all entities and lines of business to ensure proper coverage for business units.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities by company policies and applicable laws.
- Performs all duties in adherence to OTOW standards.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Insurance or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in the construction and/or land development industries.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Required experience in high-volume, production homebuilding environments, with a strong understanding of construction operations, cost control, and margin management.
- Deep knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, project budgeting, and real estate development cycles.
- Deep knowledge of insurance markets and negotiating with national insurance brokerage firms.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining complex financial models and dashboards for multi-phase residential development projects.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments and executive leadership.
- Proficiency with ERP and financial systems (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, Procore, or similar platforms).
- Strategic, analytical thinker with hands-on execution capabilities and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.

Skills Required
