The Role

The Executive Planning Consultant (EPC) serves as a trusted financial advisor to senior executives and C-suite leaders within key Workplace benefit plan clients. Acting as the primary relationship manager for a select group of executives, the Executive Planning Consultant provides personalized financial planning, retirement income strategies, investment guidance, and asset management support tailored to each client’s unique goals. By integrating workplace benefits and plan provisions into comprehensive financial plans, the EPC helps executives make informed decisions that support both their immediate and long-term financial well-being while delivering outstanding client experience through ongoing consultation and relationship management.

Working as part of a collaborative team that includes managing directors, relationship managers, and executive services associates, the Executive Planning Consultant drives client engagement, business growth, and client satisfaction. This role involves presenting executive services offerings during business reviews, cultivating new opportunities through referrals, seminars, and local events, and identifying strategies to increase assets under management and expand client relationships.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Series 7 and Series 66 licenses required
  • Ability to obtain an insurance license within six months of hire
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation preferred
  • Completion of CEP Level 1 certification within the first 12 months of employment is strongly encouraged
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in face-to-face investment sales and financial planning
  • Proven track record of sales success within the financial services industry
  • Experience working with senior executives and employee benefit plans
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and managing relationships with high-net-worth clients
  • Strong ability to assess clients' unique financial needs and recommend tailored investment and planning solutions
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
  • Comprehensive knowledge of brokerage services, insurance products, investment management, estate planning, financial planning, and retirement planning
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to influence and advise executive-level decision-makers

The Executive Planning Consultant provides planning and guidance for Fidelity’s Workplace Investing executive clients and operates within Fidelity’s Personal Investing business unit. Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.

The base salary range for this position is $96,000-$210,000 per year.  

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
