The Role

Vice President of Engineering & Product Management
Full-Time | Sioux Falls, SD

We’re seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Engineering & Product Management to lead our organization’s innovation and technical direction. This role is responsible for shaping the product strategy, driving technology development, and fostering a culture centered on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. As a member of the executive leadership team, the VP will ensure that engineering and product initiatives align with strategic business objectives and deliver meaningful value to customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership, defining the vision and roadmap for product development and technology innovation.

  • Inspire a company-wide culture that values creativity, agility, and technical excellence.

  • Serve as a key influencer and change agent within the organization, promoting cross-functional collaboration and transparency.

  • Lead the entire product lifecycle—from concept creation and market analysis to commercialization and product retirement.

  • Partner closely with Operations, Sales, and executive leadership to align engineering goals with company growth and profitability targets.

  • Oversee resource planning and organizational design to maximize productivity and team development.

  • Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and customer needs to guide future innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Establish clear priorities for product improvement, performance, and cost optimization through disciplined engineering processes.

  • Ensure alignment of vendor and supplier partnerships with organizational goals and technical standards.

  • Deliver on operational objectives including new product introduction timelines, quality metrics, and budget performance.

Leadership & Performance Focus
  • Empower high-performing teams through mentorship, coaching, and servant leadership principles.

  • Communicate organizational vision effectively, building trust and clarity across all levels.

  • Promote continuous improvement practices that enhance efficiency, product reliability, and customer satisfaction.

  • Develop a structured approach to problem-solving, issue tracking, and solution implementation.

  • Lead initiatives that strengthen communication between engineering, sales, and customer support to improve product value and responsiveness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in engineering and product management, including at least 10 years in leadership roles.

  • Proven record of developing and executing long-term engineering and product strategies.

  • Strong background in MRP systems, program management, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills with the ability to engage effectively across technical and executive audiences.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools.

  • Willingness to travel up to 15%.
