Position Summary

The Vice President (VP) of Product Development in the field of early detection cancer plays a critical leadership role in bringing innovative diagnostic solutions to patients. The Vice President of Marketing Early Detection will have the primary responsibility of developing commercialization strategies, product life cycle roadmaps, generating revenue and market share growth for Caris Life Sciences emerging early detection product through planning, developing, implementing and monitoring the product marketing strategy for Caris Life Sciences.

Job Responsibilities

  • Product Vision and Strategy: Defining the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for early cancer detection products, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and market needs.

  • Develop branding and the persona of early detection products and be an ambassador of that brand both within Caris and externally.

  • Team Leadership and Management: Leading and mentoring cross-functional product development teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment, and overseeing project execution.

  • Market Analysis and Customer Focus: Conducting thorough market research, understanding unmet customer needs, and translating insights into actionable product features and improvements that resonate with patients and healthcare providers.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating effectively with various internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, marketing, sales, clinical research, regulatory affairs, and external partners.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all product development activities adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.

  • DTC: Develop direct-to-consumer strategies that drive patient awareness and action to advocate for their healthcare.

  • Advocacy: Partner with patient advocacy organizations to build collaborative relationships that raise awareness of Caris Early Detection tests.

  • Strategic Thinking: The ability to envision the future of early cancer detection, identify new opportunities, and translate them into a coherent product strategy and roadmap.

  • Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of relevant scientific principles and technologies, including genomics, molecular diagnostics, AI/machine learning, and biomedical engineering.

  • Leadership and Communication: The ability to lead, motivate, and manage cross-functional teams, articulate product vision, and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.

  • Business Acumen: Understanding market dynamics, competitive landscape, and financial considerations to ensure products are commercially viable and contribute to the company's success.

  • Customer Empathy and Focus: A deep understanding of patient and healthcare provider needs, and a commitment to developing products that address those needs and improve patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • 10+ years of marketing / commercialization experience. Early Detection in Cancer experience a plus.

  • Experience in marketing Oncology Laboratory Developed Tests and bringing new products to market.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with thought leaders in the field.

  • Experience in direct-to-consumer marketing.

  • Experience in collaborating with external vendors to drive outcomes.

  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work across all levels in the organization to drive projects to completion.

  • Must be well organized and able to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Must be a strategic problem-solver and influencer with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Establishes credibility with intellectually demanding audiences; demonstrates confidence and commitment to effectively influence and lead; excellent spokesperson possessing strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Must be an agile, innovative, self-reliant and creative strategist with a desire to make a broader impact and inspire transformation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science preferred.

  • MBA preferred.

Physical Demands

  • The ability to lift objects over 20 pounds.

  • The ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.

Training

  • All job specific, safety, and compliance training are assigned based on the job functions associated with this employee.

Other

  • Candidate location will preferably be in the Phoenix, AZ area or this role will require 50% travel.
