WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Vice President, Convenience Channel will be responsible for growing our sales footprint by developing and maintaining relationships with the largest and most complex retailers in the channel. In this position you will manage a small team responsible for growing the business in this strategic channel.
 

Reports to: EVP of Sales

Direct Reports: Key Account & National Account Managers

Location: Remote work from home #LI-Remote

Base Salary: $190,000 - $250,000 (depending on experience)

Note: This range is a national average, but compensation will be reviewed based on geographical location depending on where the applicant will be working. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

Annual Bonus Potential: 35% - Eligibility is based on the company hitting annual financial targets.

Vehicle Program: We use the leader in vehicle reimbursement solutions, Motus. This program provides a monthly fixed and variable rate that adheres to IRS guidelines for business use of vehicles.

  • Develop the annual/quarterly/monthly/weekly sales business plans, including forecasting and budgeting.

  • Manage all signed distributors and partners to ensure they are performing to standard, have up-to-date business plans, and are striving to continue to grow the business. Able to balance multiple routes to market including, but not limited to: DSD, Broadline & Direct service. 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies. 

  • Manage strategy with large retailers, top distributors, and prospective customers.

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve revenue growth targets and expand our presence in the market.

  • Partner with Marketing and provide leadership in creating effective sales programs, including brand strategy for optimal success.

  • Ensure collaboration of Marketing and Sales teams on key account calls, presentations, competitive research/Sales tools, tradeshows, promotions, and pricing strategies.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team, including recruiting, onboarding, and providing ongoing coaching and professional development.

  • Collaborate with marketing, field sales, product development, finance, and customer success teams to align strategies and drive synergies.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with national and regional key accounts to strategically grow the business in the Convenience Channel.

  • Oversee pipeline management and sales forecasting, ensuring accurate reporting and informed decision-making.

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

  • Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform sales strategies and tactics.

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows as needed.

  • Ensure food safety, quality, and SQF practices are followed at all times, notifying the immediate manager of any food safety and/or quality issues.

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of beverage experience is required, eight (8) years including management.

  • Minimum of eight (8) years calling on national CPG retailers in the Convenience Channel.

  • Proven history of exceeding sales quotas within the CPG industry.

  • Proven history of a growing business with key retailers in the Convenience Channel.

  • Proven established retailer relationships within the national C-store Channel

  • Experience managing a $5+ million budget.

  • Demonstrated success managing teams and key retailers at all levels.

  • Excellent sales process skillset and organizational skills.

  • Ability to influence cross functionally both internal and external.

  • Strong relationship-building skills to build relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Data reporting and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking in both short-term and long-term planning.

  • Ability to enlist commitment by involving others early and often as well as building behind the scenes support for ideas, strategies and goals.

  • Ability to outline a clear direction for teams and understand the interdependencies across the company to deliver on strategic priorities.

  • Sets high standards of performance and holds managers and employees accountable for delivering objectives.

  • Ability to travel up to 50%, occasionally working evenings and weekends as needed for special assignments.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs. repetitively, as well as to push and pull up to 100 lbs. regularly.

    • Regional Sales Managers and Sales Directors – We use the leader in vehicle reimbursement solutions, Motus. This program provides a monthly fixed and variable rate that adheres to IRS guidelines for the business use of personal vehicles.

    • HQ Directors/VPs – Vehicle Stipend – This role qualifies for a vehicle stipend equaling $650/$800 monthly.
