Your Opportunity as the Vice President, Consumer Market Intelligence
You will lead the Enterprise Team responsible for leveraging advanced analytics and insights to shape business strategies, guide brand growth, and influence product innovation, pricing, media investments, and go-to-market execution. This role oversees Market & Sales Intelligence, Business Intelligence & Reporting, Insights and Advanced RGM and builds high performing teams that understand the business and can connect consumer & customer data to provide strategic consult to commercial leaders to inform decision-making and drive business performance through storytelling, neutrality, harmonization and thoroughness – utilizing advance analytics and data science.
Location: Orrville, OH (Close proximity to Cleveland/Akron)
Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer
Work Arrangements: Hybrid - onsite a minimum of 9 days a month primarily during core weeks as determined by the Company; maybe more as business need requires
In this role you will:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial analytics vision aligned with corporate objectives. This includes determining what analysis is conducted in-house and where to engage third party providers.
Leads the Commercial Analytics & Insights COE, overseeing quantitative and qualitative analysis of data to answer the most complex marketing and sales business questions – enterprise wide & specific to our SBAs.
Develop processes and practices to identify & prioritize deliverables for commercial analytics team.
Drive a data-centric culture across commercial functions and influence strategic decisions at the executive level.
Consumer & Market Insights
Leads teams that develop strategies to capture and interpret consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
Partner with Marketing, Innovation, and Category Leadership teams to translate insights into actionable growth opportunities.
Commercial Analytics & Market Intelligence
Oversee advanced analytics initiatives, including predictive modeling, market mix modeling, and demand forecasting.
Translate complex data into actionable insights for pricing, trade optimization, and marketing ROI.
Leverage syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), POS data, and consumer research to inform strategic decisions.
Anticipate market trends and competitive dynamics to guide portfolio strategy.
Partner with Sales & Marketing to deliver insights that improve revenue growth and operational efficiency.
Monitor KPIs and performance dashboards to track commercial effectiveness.
Technology & Data Strategy
Oversees the data strategy for the Commercial organization. Partners with IS to ensure that tools are in place to facilitate the data needs of the organization.
Ensure robust data architecture and governance for scalable analytics solutions.
Lead adoption of BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) and advanced analytics platforms.
Lead Data Strategy for commercial team; monitoring data set purchase
Team Leadership
Build and mentor a best-in-class analytics team.
Foster innovation and continuous learning within the analytics organization.
Oversight to training programs to build analytical skills around the Sales and Marketing teams.
Provide mentorship & support to data scientists & other analytical resources
What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree
15+ years in analytics leadership roles, with at least 7 years in senior leadership within CPG or retail
Proven track record of driving commercial strategy through analytics
Proven track record of leading large teams and managing complex data ecosystems
Proven experience in leading cross-functional analytics teams, including integrating sales and marketing analytics across business units
Proven experience building advanced analytics teams that deliver the need of today while pragmatically building for the future.
Ability to prioritize needs & drive focus amid competing priorities
Deep expertise in marketing and sales analytics, with a focus on performance measurement, ROI tracking, and data-driven decision-making in a CPG context
Strong knowledge of advanced data science techniques, such as predictive modeling, Market Mix Modeling, attribution modeling, and channel performance analysis
Proficiency in revenue growth management (RGM) analytics, including pricing, promotions, and demand forecasting optimization
Experience in developing and integrating BI dashboards and self-service tools for large commercial teams
Analytically driven and detail-oriented, with the ability to translate complex data into concrete, actionable insights for sales and marketing teams
Strong business acumen with ability to influence senior leadership
Excellent communication and storytelling skills to translate data into actionable strategies
Strategic thinker, focused on driving growth through data-driven decision-making and resource optimization
Collaborative and communicative, able to work across commercial functions and with IT teams to build seamless analytics capabilities
