The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.
Salary Range$232,100.00 - $365,500.00What Will you Do?
- Develop and implement strategic philanthropic initiatives that align with Travelers' business interests and meet community needs.
- Maintain robust employee community involvement programs that embody the Travelers Promise to take care of our customers, communities and each other and support the company’s talent recruitment, retention, and development strategies.
- Oversee the development of annual Community Relations plans, budgets and communications.
- Act as a spokesperson for Travelers' philosophy and strategy related to corporate citizenship.
- Build and sustain relationships with community, private sector and public sector leaders to support company objectives.
- Serve as administer of TRV Foundation, including aligned giving, quarterly board meetings and annual tax return.
- Implement strategic initiatives, data management, and programmatic and financial reporting for the department.
- Lead a team responsible for delivering a unified vision and consistent strategy for improving communities and driving business value.
What Will our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Public Policy or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in a corporate philanthropy or private foundation setting as well as leadership roles on nonprofit boards, collective impact groups or similar governance structures.
- Thorough understanding of the nonprofit sector, experience in corporate settings, and a proven track record in people management, public speaking, relationship management, and financial management.
- Ability to effectively navigate cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment.
- Comfortable in a wide range of settings including collaborating with C-Suite leaders and members of grassroots organizations.
- Understanding of compliance factors in corporate funding programs and private foundations.
- Ability to make sound recommendations and provide alternative solutions to senior management.
- Attuned to trends and opportunities in corporate philanthropy and citizenship.
- Awareness of key community issues related to company focus areas
What is a Must Have?
- 10 years of related work experience in areas such as corporate community relations, public policy, advocacy, communications, legal, marketing, professional grant making; or leadership of a non-profit entity.
- 5 years of experience in leadership and management of others.
- Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members – including spouses, domestic partners, and children – are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.
- Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum. If you have student loan debt, you can enroll in the Paying it Forward Savings Program. When you make a payment toward your student loan, Travelers will make an annual contribution into your 401(k) account. You are also eligible for a Pension Plan that is 100% funded by Travelers.
