The primary responsibilities of the Vice President of Operations include developing and defining strategies for assigned business units, driving growth and development of programs, engaging in business planning, physician recruitment, and capital planning. Key objectives include redesigning care delivery methods and aligning Essentia Health's business models to provide cost-effective care within reimbursements. Expertise in change management, financial analysis, and proforma development is essential. The Vice President also maintains a presence in assigned communities and participates in a national network to ensure the implementation of best practices and stay at the forefront of industry advancements. Monitoring organizational structures to meet the needs of patients, communities, and organizations, as well as driving innovation and finding solutions, are critical aspects of the role. Collaboration with physician leaders is key to ensure the adoption of critical practices and achieve desired outcomes.
Candidates for this position should possess a Master's degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field. However, highly experienced individuals with a Bachelor's degree may also be considered, with the expectation of obtaining a Master's degree within 3 years. A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience is required to excel in this role.
