Job Description

As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Auto, you serve as the primary financial leader of the Auto Division, as well as a key business partner to GEICO’s finance leadership team. You will ensure the delivery of the quarterly, annual, and medium-term financial commitments of the Auto Division through best-in-class performance management processes, systems, and capabilities. GEICO is driving to continually enhance its finance infrastructure, to standardize its reporting and analysis processes, and to drive more robust forecasting metrics, processes, and tools across the organization for leading insights.

You will utilize data and analytical projections in order to lead and execute a comprehensive finance transformation agenda aimed at business growth. You will oversee the division’s key financial activities, including financial planning and analysis and will drive all strategic financial initiatives. As Auto CFO, you will be responsible for setting expectations for management and delivery of timely financial information including results, forecasting and budgeting, competitive analysis, predictive modeling and performance against key operating metrics that deliver strategic insight on the short-, medium-, and longer-term outlook of the business. 

The Auto CFO will:

  • Prepare and review material for the management teams of GEICO.
  • Advise and serve as a business partner to the finance and business leadership teams on business strategy, financial strategy, and performance.
  • Lead and monitor financial policies and practices to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, in compliance with all laws and regulations in order to safeguard the company’s assets.
  • Accurately compile the division’s financial statements. This includes reviewing data provided from departments and ensuring accuracy while meeting deadlines.
  • Challenge operational and financial trends and assumptions, while incorporating strategic assumptions into the annual planning, budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Work cross-functionally on strategic issues and opportunities facing the company, including the development of a business strategy for sustained profitability and expected financial returns, the introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action. Be seen as a resource in the development of solutions to business challenges.
  • Build agility and resilience within the team and the broader finance organization to drive transformation.

Qualifications:

Technical / Functional:

  • Accomplished business and finance leader with a consistent record of high performance, financial, strategic and operational leadership across consumer and commercial business segments. Extensive functional experience in corporate planning, business unit finance, strategy, and operations a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, financial, and business management skills with deep understanding of P&L management.
  • Strong strategic skills including ability to assess and/or define new business opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of finance data flow and tools.
  • Outstanding ability to communicate and break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages.

Leadership:

  • Proactive mindset and a relentless passion to win.
  • Effective and inspiring team leadership skills with proven ability to hire and train top talent and inspire through coaching and recognition.
  • Highly collaborative individual who can influence multiple internal partners to drive results in a matrixed environment.

Location:

  • This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum, on-site presence of 3 days per week at our Chicago, IL; New York, NY or Chevy Chase office.

Annual Salary

$238,000.00 - $442,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
